I am Paul Roberts, the writer, producer and director of the social conscience thriller, Revenge is a Promise, which is a complex thriller about a young , Black West-Indian girl, who is trapped in a human-trafficking and life insurance racket, run by her boss. The feature-length film is set in South Florida with a cast of talented performers, whose unrelenting pursuit of their dreams through various means is awe-inspiring. So much so that, I found myself re-writing the screenplay to create opportunities for some delightfully gifted performers, who have hustled, pounded the pavements for years, even decades, from one audition to another in pursuit of a heartrendingly elusive breakthrough. “Now I’m afraid I’ll die without having the opportunity for my work to be seen and appreciated by the masses,” one of such underground performers disclosed to me with a sad smile, "I'm not looking to make millions of dollars, Paul. I just want the recognition that I know I truly deserve."
"We'll make this happen," I had assured the elderly man. But halfway through production, I ran out of money. Suddenly, an all-consuming desire to complete this film and see to it that it's seen by the masses possessed me. It's a consummate feeling that keeps me running all day and working till late, late night, because I know that an unfinished movie can die so quickly, and time is ticking... Please give this a happy ending. Please support us in making so many dreams a reality. Contribute whatever you can and/or share our story. We thank you so much for your support.
What We Need & What You Get
We need a minimum of $5,000 to finish this movie. The fund will be used for the following expenses: 1. More location rentals. 2. Props and Costumes. 3. Equipment rental. 4. Enough Food for Cast & Crew. 5. Portable Bathrooms for cast (the director and crew will go in the woods--hopefully they won't be bitten by rattlesnakes). And for helping us--for being the angel, who rescues this movie from instant death, we say: THANK YOU AWESOME ONE! You ROCK! And, since we're not looking to get something for nothing, we've put together a nice package of perks--in addition to our deepest gratitude. Please check out the perks and take your pick. And if you're simply looking to pay forward, not looking to get anything in return, that's awesome too. If we raise more money, we'll make a better film.
Making it possible for a single performer to breakthrough and be celebrated nationally, internationally, or perhaps even on a global scale is a very powerful thing. It's priceless. That's the potential of what your contribution could achieve. You could change the lives of a few struggling performers for good and cause a positive snowball effect that impacts their families, friends, communities and beyond--from a financial, emotional and spiritual point-of-view. Regardless of your race or ethnicity, or national origin, the magical power to grant fulfillment and self-actualization to your fellow human being is in your heart and wallet. We hope that you'd harness this power to alleviate our desperate need. And as you're already aware, a good movie lasts for generations. That is the ultimate impact of your contribution. You have a hand in the creation of something that will not only last a lifetime, but could be shared by future generations long after we have all departed to a higher dimension. And for this reason, and other compelling ones too numerous to list, we salute you for your role in enriching humanity!

Risks and challenges
The biggest risks and challenges this project might encounter lie in distribution. There's a clear risk that the finished film might not be picked up for a theatrical release by established and reputable film distributors. So we already have a distribution Plan B and C, to ensure that the finished film is seen by the masses.Theatrical self-distribution, film festivals, and digital distribution through various online platforms are among the numerous options in our back-up plans for sharing the finished film with the masses--at home and abroad.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
