LIMITED EDITION: Gotham Black (Stealth-Mode) UNLOCKED!
So, how does this "stretch goal" work? It's simple - the North Moore Short in Gotham Black is now an option for backers who are pledged at $85 or more. That means if you are currently pledged at $45, you would have to increase your pledge to $85 in order to unlock the Gotham Black option. If you are already pledged at $85 or more, the Gotham Black will become an additional option for you at the end of our campaign when we collect sizes and colors.
Do you ever find yourself:
Carrying your phone in your hand on a run?
Stuffing your apartment key into your sock?
Putting your phone in one of those annoying armbands?
Fearing that your phone might pop out of your pocket while working out?
Handed someone wet cash that you had stashed in your waistband?
Well, now there's a solution:
And now it gets even better:
PLUS THE NEWLY UNLOCKED LIMITED EDITION "Gotham Black"
***Please Note: You will not be asked to select your size(s) until the completion of the Kickstarter campaign. At which point, we will distribute a customer survey for you to fill out listing your preferred color-way(s) and size(s).
Every single backer counts, and every backer will become a part of this story. We will do everything we can to show you how appreciative we are. Every dollar is humbly received and every share is taken with gratitude. At the end of the campaign, you'll have the option to choose from any of the three color-ways for our North Moore Short. Until we hit a stretch goal, we will only be offering the T-shirt in grey and white.
We strive to inspire a higher quality of life through active living. We create apparel for men who embrace the challenges of their environment and live a lifestyle with purpose. We believe in the profound benefits of living an active and healthy lifestyle. All we ask is that you live life passionately.
A year and a half ago, while running the streets of Manhattan with my key tucked into my sock and my phone bouncing around in my pocket, I could only hope I’d return to my apartment with everything that I left with. My workout was a time to release - to let go of deadlines and formalities. It didn’t feel right that I was worrying, or even thinking, about how I would protect my valuables. It wasn’t until a fateful conversation in a dark and cramped NYC apartment that the idea for a solution came to life. That October evening, the idea for the North Moore Short was born.
After 12 iterations and seemingly endless trial and error, an original product was conceived. As close as you can get to it, The North Moore Short quite literally represents my blood, sweat and tears (I don’t cry). As a young team, we wanted to mitigate risk. So, we made it a point to stay lean and were able to successfully bootstrap our way through product development and the sourcing of materials. Once we felt market ready, we used small-batch runs to get the product into the hands of friends, family, and fellow athletes.
As a former collegiate athlete, I am afforded access to a close network of people who have high standards for their fitness apparel. Our early small-batch runs garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback - inspiring our small team to push onward. We sit here today, asking for your support to help bring the next iteration of our product to the market. We're excited to take the next step as a company, and your support will help get us there!
Why North Moore?
North Moore is a street in Tribeca, New York. Or Nathaniel Moore? We may never know the street’s real name... Either way, it was on this street and in this neighborhood of Tribeca where I was first exposed to the realities of post-collegiate, professional life. It was here that I sweat through 12 rounds of prototypes and here that I first saw the value that the North Moore Short was able to provide.
Where your money goes.
First things first, we need to get you your North Moore Shorts and your T-shirts as quickly as possible.
Your up-front funding will allow for our team to place bulk quantity orders with our fabric, waistband, trims and labeling suppliers. This will enable us to meet industry standard minimums with our purchase orders that we otherwise would not be able to reach. Once all of our materials are in house we can move swiftly towards production. Having the ability to place a larger production order with our manufacturer is crucial. We can now manufacture our goods at a lower price per unit, returning extremely valuable working capital back to our business.
Any profit from this Kickstarter will be invested in to further product and brand development. We hope to release more products in 2015 that support WOLACO ethos.
Risks and challenges
We’d love to tell you that there are no risks involved in backing us, but we’re straight-shooters.
As with every kickstarter, there are some inherent risks involving materials, manufacturing, and fulfillment.
We’ve scoured the city and the world sourcing the materials we’ll need for this product. We have them on standby. We’ve done everything we can to iron out any production issues ahead of time. They’re ready to go. We’ve even manually shipped nearly 400 units already and have systems in place for fulfillment.
The best kind of “Challenge” - There is an outside chance that we have the best problem you can possibly have, and we outperform the capacity of our distributors, manufacturers or fulfillment systems.
We’ve done our best to develop contingency plans for this… should this ‘good’ problem arise, we’ll be prepared.
One thing we don’t want to rule out is some form of natural disaster. In fact, the concept of these shorts were first conceived in the wake of Super Storm Sandy. Given the time of year and the locations of our materials, manufacturers and shippers (all in the North East), there is a chance that a fluke snow or ice storm could delay delivery, but we’ve built that into our expected timelines.
Our goal is to over deliver. And from the product to the processes, we’ve taken every possible step to make that so.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
