Treasure Bird in Dreamland is a 2d platformer set in a fantasy world. The hero of the story is Raum, a magical crow who has been tasked to steal treasure. As Raum you will travel to lands inspired by mythology, Valhalla, Olympus, Shangri La, and others, to steal treasure from the castles of kings. The game is heavy on exploration and harkens back to the classic 2d platformers of yesteryear. Hidden across its vast vertical panoramas are rubies that need to be collected to advance to the next stage as well as all manner of gems, coins, and treasure chests. Your quest will not be easy as all manner of strange demons, slime creatures, and traps will block your path. Can you make your way to the massive final boss and achieve your redemption? Why does a crow want treasure? You will have to hone your platforming skills if you want to find out!
Story told through traditional 2d cutscenes that you can skip with the press of a button!
Limited flight play mechanic - Flap your wings multiple times to reach distant platforms, but beware the heavy ether of Dreamland! Each flap of your wings is the equivalent of a jump/double jump from the classic platformers you're used to, but you can flap your wings up to six times, which allows for more vertical ascension and exploration. You'll have to fully maximize the timing of your jumps/double jumps, and utilize your surroundings to reach your goals!
Score System - Collect treasure and destroy enemies for points! Beat your friends’ high score!
Health & Life System - You start the game with a full health bar and five lives. If you get damaged by an enemy or obstacle your life bar becomes depleted. When your health becomes fully depleted you lose a life. If you lose all your lives it's game over!
Unique art style combining pixel art with gradient backgrounds and simulated lighting!
Black Blobs - A simple slime enemy that moves and hinders your path. It'll hurt you if it touches you but is easy to dispatch by jumping on top of it.
Green Globs - A large slime enemy that doesn't move, but can sometimes hold valuable treasure inside! It'll hurt you if you touch it but is easy to dispatch by jumping on top of it.
Flying Eye - A flying eye is an eyeball with bat like wings that hinders your path by land and air but is easy to dispatch by jumping on top of it.
Eye Spikes - Eye Spikes are very dangerous! They move and hinder your path and they'll dispatch you in one hit so avoid them at all costs!
There are also spikes, sharks, and other forms of dangerous obstacles! With your support we will make more enemy variations!
There will be all manner of treasure including coins, gems, treasure chests, and the red gems. The red gems are your main goal, and you must collect all 7 in each area before you can proceed. Other treasure is optional, but can greatly add to your score! All of the treasures are scattered throughout the large areas, and some are hidden and hard to find!
With your support we will make more treasure variations!
7+ stages - Dream like locals based on mythology like Shangri La, Valhalla, and Mount Olympus!

Treasure Bird in Dreamland was originally planned to be a Flash game with approximately 7 levels. You play as a magical crow that flies around a platform like environment and collects red gems to proceed to the next stage. As work on the game progressed, we realized that we would need better sound to complete the package. Orb Soundwerx provided a couple of sample tracks which really seemed to fit the mood of such a unique game (see the Soundcloud files below). We would really like to be able to purchase more music so that the sound is on par with the visuals, and we would like to expand past the limitations of the flash format. With Orb Soundwerx on board handling the sound, we would really like to have the music at the highest audio quality available. Making it a desktop game would allow us to add more levels, more music, and to create a more complete game. This Kickstarter will help gauge the community interest in making Treasure Bird in Dreamland an expanded game that would be available on the Mac App and Chrome stores. Mobile formats, while not in the scope of this Kickstarter, are also a possibility. Who knows, if there is enough interest maybe Treasure Bird in Dreamland could end up on Steam or even the consoles! Most importantly, we only want to do this if you want us to!
Awesome Perks for Your Support!
Our perks are cumulative based on level of dontation and include a wallpaper, a DRM free digital copy of the game, an art book/ strategy guide, a digital copy of the OST, and probably our most unique perk, a custom pixel avatar! Choose from a large number of options or send us a picture and we will make you your own pixel avatar to use however you choose! In addition, the first 20 people to donate at this level will be featured in the game ending!
Risks and challenges
We feel that the risks of supporting this Kickstarter are relatively low. We have a working alpha build with a couple of levels already. As such, we are confident that the project can be completed with funding. It will, however, take some time as we only have one designer, and we need to flesh out the remaining levels. Barring any type of unforeseen emergency, the game should be available by the end of the year or the beginning of next year.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
