Der Brat Bus
An innovative new way to serve the increasing popularity and demand for German food, Der Brat Bus is a food truck that serves the hot street food market of Houston, Texas. Our menu features popular food items such as brats, warm pretzels, currywurst, the hot new sensation from Berlin, Ketwurst, and appropriate sides such as saur kraut, red cabbage, German potato salad and spaetzle. All ingredients are the freshest and highest quality.
Food trucks are the only segment of the food service industry that have continued to grow throughout the recession. They are the hot new trend in the industry and growth is expected explode over the next ten years.

Risks and challenges
Challenges come from various areas. One is governmental; in some cities local businesses have used government to place severe restrictions on food trucks as a protectionist measure. However, one of the main reasons we've chosen Houston as our location is the support given to food trucks from the people and local business. Currently, the city council is considering easing restrictions on food trucks.
Another challenge is whether consumers will like and continue buying our products. We have done the necessary research into consumer likes/dislikes. The Houston area has a high percentage of German-Americans that love German food. But, regardless of ethnicity, all Americans know and love Brats and other sausages. Everyone loves a hot, soft pretzel.
Will people eat food from food trucks? Research shows that 64% of Americans have already eaten at a food truck and will do it again. People enjoy the fun and variety food trucks offer.
Profitablity. The food items we've chosen to offer all have wonderfully low food-cost percentages, as low as 10%! We've purposely chosen items that can be prepared and served quickly and efficiently ensuring we can serve as many customers as possible in a short amount of time. Our principle owners/employees are trained and experienced Chefs who know how to manage money.
