Thanks for the update, Jasco Games, and even more for that extra explanation! I've seen just from following other projects just how much tweaking can become necessary to get production just right, but here's hoping everything will go quick from here on out!
And, the reason we're only showing some every week is that it spreads it out. As we get notes on production and such, we'll be updating them with those images as well.
To answer the questions so that there's no confusion:
All the models at this point have been approved, and sent to the printer. The printer itself is on holiday until sometime next week, but I've been told that since they've had the models for some time things are probably already "in the process."
Graphics have been worked on, but some lingering things are here and there needing to be done, and Capcom wants the whole graphics side done and such for approvals, so it's a slower process.
The miniatures were the first part of the process and took the longest, however, we did not skimp on doing graphics during that time. In fact, the board itself looks similar, but overly different than it was on the Kickstarter, and it actually looks slightly different than the one we showed off at Gencon. However, we're anticipating the last of things needed should be soon so we can go through any final approvals there.
As stated in our podcast, the graphics portions, i.e. board, cards, tokens, packaging, etc - is the fastest to actually print. It literally will take a couple of weeks, vs. the minis which take months to get setup, printed, colored, etc.
So right now, assuming colors move smoothly, we're looking at Quarter 1, 2015 of having the product. Which, given some delays on Kickstarter we've seen, is pretty decent, all things considered.
James, they stated the actual board game itself hasn't gone through approvals. Seems they are waiting on that process until after they are done with the minis.
Then comes pre-production then full production....it's a loooong way off.
These are looking great, how many more approvals are we looking at, I know the color patterns are next, does anything else need approval? My other question is are these minis going into mass production as they're getting approved? Are we getting close or are we still a long way from these being ready to ship?
Christopher, this is just the blank models. They still have to go through coloring.
No, it's not Oct. Oct went out the window during the Kickstarter.
Thanks for the update! Is this the remainder of the figures that need approval? Is there an updated expected release date of this project or is it still OCT 2014?
