Progress and Possible Setbacks

Hey everyone,

Good news first: the designs for the Dr Wily, Gutsman, Met Octopus Battery, Tackle Fire and Yellow Devil miniatures have now been delivered to the printer! This is a very important step in the process to get the miniatures created, and that means we're one step closer! There are a few more things that will need to be done after we get the first run of miniatures created, but we're very excited to share this news with everyone.

Now, the possible bad news: when we launched this product, we gave ourselves a ton of cushion to get everything approved because we knew it would be a difficult process. However, it seems that even the generous amount of time we set aside may not be enough. There is a chance that we might not have the game ready in time for our intended October release date. A few of our miniatures (WE'RE LOOKING AT YOU, MEGA MAN) have been revised more times than we can count; each time it's just a little tweak, but it's still a tweak, which means it takes longer time.

What that means, of course, is that these products are meticulously detailed and 100% meet Capcom's standards, which, for you as fans, means you'll get some of the best Mega Man miniatures ever created (if you don't mind us saying so ourselves). While it might mean more time is needed, the final product is going to be exceedingly faithful to the Mega Man series, and we think that our fans will appreciate that.

We will keep everyone updated, but we wanted to remain open and honest about the development process.

Thanks for your patience, and we'll be sharing with you all more updates as they come! In the mean time, feel free to post comments on Kickstarter, join the conversation on Twitter, or like us on Facebook.

"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." - Shigeru Miyamoto.

By all means, take your time and make it awesome!

I can wait. I can always wait. Quality is worth the time. Of course, I also like having a frame of reference to go by, but (hey), what are you gonna do?

I don't mind the delay if it's for quality. Just be honest and tell us what is happening and you'll get happy backers. Keep up the good work !!!

Nice to see no complaints yet. People who complain about game delays are total boardgame/kickstarter rookies. I'd rather a late game than a substandard one. Just one request: keep the communication up! I've taken part in some campaigns where they'd go months without an update. It made the backers feel like they were forgotten.

Thanks for the update! Keep up the great work. I'd rather have an amazing product late than an okay one soon.
If you have some more gameplay stuff squared away, then I'd love to see it!

Any word on when the backerkit will close? I want to make sure I have the funds allocated when the time comes.

No worries, myself and someone else laid out a real cushioned timeline (comments section) and they both pushed into 2015. I don't expect to see anything until mid 2015 provided there aren't too many bumps along the way.

October was completely unreasonable for a game that hasn't even been fully designed yet, or rather, at the start of the campaign.

Have you nailed down everything for the board game itself yet?

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. By now I expect delays with most, if not all of the projects I back. If I backed it then it's worth waiting for :)

Any news on the mega man miniature game that you guys mentioned? Or is that still too far off in the distance to discuss?
