There's a lot of dead space in the insert we're looking at now. Granted that dead space is needed to get everything to fit right/left, forward/back. Would have been nice had they created a Kickstarter insert for the first run that utilized that dead space for us.
Yeah I remember the box being discussed way back when... but sifting through Jascos comments they never promised it although they did say they were looking into it. Here are the two most relevant comments from a quick search.
"@Justin - There will be things that are inside and outside of the game box. However, it will all be nicely packed and what not so that nothing outside the game box is damaged."
"@Marvin L Thomas: Most of this is coming in expansion boxes, but we are discussing cases and ways to fit the game in a single box for storage"
It is unfortunate it all won't fit in the box... but I get why. Making a second box for the limited run deluxe edition is likely not worth it. That said... if they are only putting these in a bag... I hope they have plenty on reserve for replacements of damaged ones during shipping. There is likely a better solution that that.
We asked about that at great length during the campaign. We were told not to worry about it, they'll make it all work. I guess a bag is making it work.
And i do mean a box even as an add on i understand boxes can get pricey
Hmmmmmmm i just really wish there was another solution for stretch goals beyond a bag. Even just a box with similar footprint to expansion box would be appreciated.
I second the desire to have the box fit sleeved cards. I got plenty of sleeves coming from you guys so you better believe these bad boys will be thicker than normal.
@Jasco Games <3 this is great to hear. Thank you so much.
@Molster and @Honk5000, we're going to talk to the printer about seeing if we can expand the card area to accommodate 240 sleeved cards. As we said in the video, there are a few revisions we would like to see happen
@Nathan: I don't think the octagonal board and RM plug ins are going away, it's just the art that goes on them that's changing. You can see a picture of the rule book page that shows them at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1821440755/mega-mantm-the-board-game/posts/1142064
"...which will be all gathered into one larger bag for stretch goal recipients."
In other words they will not fit in the box. All of us Kickstarter folks will pretty much have to throw away the insert in order to get everything to fit.
When was the board layout changed? I actually thought the octagonal board with 'plug in' slots for the RMs was a really cool design.
As another user brought up, it looks like they might fight a little to snug if you want to add selves to them, However there looks like there is plenty of room to expand that space a bit, and then add in a piece of cardboard to hold the cards in place without selves, and then you can just remove that if you do use selves.
@Nicole, the box is going to hold miniatures for the main game. The expansion will also hold its own miniatures. All the other miniatures (minions, Yellow Devil, etc.) are going to be shipped in small bags with their bases, which will be all gathered into one larger bag for stretch goal recipients.
Just a quick question:
Will there be enough space for sleeved cards in the box?
Is that going to be enough space for all of the figures? The square looks small, considering all that's going into it. What about the expansion?
The card space looks like it will in no way fit sleeved cards. This is an unfortunate oversight in the packaging of many of the board games that I already own. Do you have any plans to expand that space a bit in order to fit the sleeved decks?
