The Shakespeare All-Stars present "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield
Performance dates: June 23rd - July 3rd at the Heartland Studio in Rogers Park - Chicago.
That's right! We're tackling all of Shakespeare's plays in this hilarious play first made famous by the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
However, unlike most productions of this play, we're doing it with 3 WOMEN! We thought we would single-handedly try to make up for the hundreds of years women were unfairly banned from the stage by having Arin Mulvaney, Ellen Cribbs, and Jill Matel take on Shakespeare's greatest characters.
Why do we need money? Plays are expensive to produce! Any theatre company will tell you that ticket sales alone are not sufficient to keep the company alive. The $1500 requested in this Kickstarter will cover our costs for:
- Our performance space rental
- Royalties for our 8 performances
If we can raise more than $1500, we will have a bigger budget for props, sets, and costumes. Plus, the more money we raise, the more money goes back into the Shakespeare All-Stars, which inspires, educates, and entertains students of all ages through the work of the famous Bard. In fact, during our last school show, an eighth grader enthusiastically came up to us afterwards and asked how she could become a Shakespeare All-Star!!! The more funding we have, the more students we can reach to provide essential arts programming in schools that have smaller and smaller arts budgets every year.
So please consider donating! Check out our fun Kickstarter incentives, and we hope to see you at the show!
The Shakespeare All-Stars have been entertaining and educating audiences at schools, festivals, and community events for the past six years in the Chicagoland area.

Risks and challenges
As with most theatre companies, the challenge we will face after getting funded will be getting audiences to come see our show. Marketing is key to getting audiences in seats. We are hoping this project will bring new audience members to our theatre! This will help us clear a profit, which will fund our next production. We have a marketing team and are utilizing all the online marketing resources we can find to get word out about this production.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
