We've incorporated the amazing ability of flight with basic engineering and coding! It's not only fun and ultra-cool to play, but it gets you to see flight in a whole new way. And the best part … the Airblock is only $99!

IN THE MEDIA
Airblock is made of magnetic, modular parts that are easy to assemble and disassemble without the need for tools. Airblock has two main modes: hexacopter drone and hovercraft, but with its modularity you can create even more modes!
Airblock is made of lightweight, engineered foam that is soft, strong and durable. The fans/blades are surrounded by hexagons, so they’re not directly exposed to objects. Airblock is safe to fly around kids and for kids to safely fly.

Programming is the language of the future, and many are starting to learn at a young age because it also helps to develop logical thinking and problem solving. Imagine a cool stunt and have it become a reality with the Makeblock app. It’s simple to use. Simply drag-and-drop different blocks of commands -- like forward, pause, turn, and forward--and connect them together to create a seamless action.
Creating is in our nature, we’ve always strived to build things bigger and better. Combine Airblock with other toys or parts and make the most of it! Create things from cars to streamers to dancers -- the fun is in your hands...and in your mind.
With Airblock, you’re able to compete in a variety of games. Race against each other in different modes or even have an epic air battle! Tell your buddies about Airblock, because the only thing more fun than flying an Airblock is flying an Airblock with friends!

Crash it and rebulid it! It's fun to watch it hit walls and crumble into building blocks. The soft and durable foam material makes it crash-friendly, but you don't have to worry about damaging walls or furniture.
The controller was designed to be the command station that brings your imagination to flight. From the app, you can drag-and-drop blocks to create flight codes, then assign the code to a button. If you don’t feel like coding, you can just commandeer Airblock using the joystick controls.
THE AERODYNAMICS BEHIND THE HOVERCRAFT
The lift from the four propellers allows Airblock to do a number of stunts, and by selecting two propellers from either side, it can generate specific movements. For instance, the two propellers located on the back of the hovercraft drive the hovercraft forward. The two propellers located in the front drive the hovercraft backward. Getting two propellers to push against each other enables the hovercraft to go left or right. With a little bit of knowledge in physics and aerodynamics, you can even make the hovercraft drift, slide or rotate in any direction!
WHY WE CREATED AIRBLOCK
Why a Drone
When kids are younger, they only look at the things in front of them, but as they get older they start to look up and see a whole new world soaring above them. We have always been fascinated with what we couldn't do ourselves -- flight. We wanted to create a flying toy that children can make on their own and proudly exclaim it is their work and theirs only as it flies above their heads.
Why We Created a Modular Drone
There aren't a lot of drones that are created so kids and adults can build and play. The toy drones available now are so easily broken, so we wanted to created a drone that kids can build on their own and crash without having to worry about damaging furnitures or breaking easily.
Why We Created a Programmable Drone
Programming is not only useful for future programmers and computer scientists, but also plays a vital role in the child’s learning phase. We hope to use more interesting and interactive programming gadgets to foster children’s love for science and technology. We hope our gadgets can attribute to a child’s development and stimulate children to think independently and solves problems creatively.

We’re passionate about robotics and STEM concepts, so our dream is to let everyone experience that sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something out of nothing. We want people to be amazed and think “wow, I made that?”After successfully funding (and shipping) four Kickstarter campaigns, we were able to bring our passion to people worldwide. THE PROCESS OF CREATING AIRBLOCK
Makeblock was founded by Jasen Wang after he quit his 9 to 5 job to further his passion for robotics. He is a firm believer that life experiences lead to learning. He is passionate about the power of STEM and furthering education through robotics. With a talented staff of engineers and creative thinkers, Makeblock has become a global leader in the maker movement. Jasen and his team dream of gifting users with the knowledge and tools to take their first step into robotics, engineering and flight.
