$304,741 pledged of $395,000 goal

33 days + 1650 backers + $304,500 raised = AMAZING!

Dear Backers:

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thirty-three days ago when I embarked on this journey of raising $395k I had no idea what I was getting myself, or my team, into. During this time 1979 REVOLUTION has been covered in the press by over 50 outlets including The Guardian, NPR, The New Yorker, Bloomberg TV, Voice of America, BBC, CNN, Mashable and Kotaku – without a PR company. In this short time I got to know you - a growing community of 1600+ people that have rallied behind 1979 allowing us to raise over $300k. This is staggering.

It’s time to exhale and take this all in. (Only for about a minute).

I am truly moved and humbled by how many people have become not only supporters of this game but advocates who want to see this game made. YOU are the visionaries. Anyone that knows me, understands that I’ve got the energy and the determination to make this game – and fulfill the great potential of this new direction. It is with renewed enthusiasm that we are launching our own crowd funding campaign on our official website, 1979revolutiongame.com. There we can offer new rewards with lower prices – due to lower fees and more options. If you’ve followed us this far – you can go all the way. Please click the website address and match your pledge here 1979revolutiongame.com

The Revolution will continue and we won’t stop until we have achieved our goal. This week already – we are being featured in Fast Company, Mental Floss (Print) and Kotaku.

Thanks for keeping the dream alive,

Navid, Bessie, Adam, Andres & Catalina

Hey Kevin- thought we has replied to this - apologies - that was actually an error and we have it back to the $395k goal. Thanks for the heads up.

Guess I'm not getting an answer

Hi guys, just a question - why did your original Kickstarter call for almost $400k as essential to build the game, while your new private crowdfunding page is only looking for $300k?

I believe in this game. I believe this story has to be told. I backed it here and I backed it there. I would back it everywhere. =)

Good luck with the next step of this journey.

Sorry you didn't reach your goal. Is there a time limit on Crown funding on your website. Can I pledge next week.

You guys should try again in February if you can. I realy think you could on hit your fund rasing goal if it wasn't for the holidays.

      @Jon Wilkie:

Thanks Jon - part of the fallout of jumping from kickstarter to our site - addressing all issues right now - hopefully have it sorted by end of day.

I actually spent more than I anticipated this month so I'm a tad relieved that this didn't fund - I'll definitely re-pledge again next paycheck but I'm thinking that many others might be in the same boat as I - it probably would've been better to start the fund mid-January.

A few other projects I funded did multiple sources, and it was reflected by the goals not lining up with the pledge totals on Kickstarter (Combined with the other sources, it lined up) so it wouldn't hurt to do a round two and aggregate both sources. Mighty No. 9 did this for example.

Catch me in another month or to and I could probably triple my pledge.

Thank you for continuing to fight to make this game a reality. This sort of story is an example of what video games could be, a way to immerse yourself in situations and roles that are outside of a person's normal frame of reference. Persevere.

Two technical notes: your pledge tracker on the homepage doesn't seem to be working yet. Also, is there a way to back for the game + soundtrack? I'm not really a T-shirt guy, but I love having the game soundtrack to go along with a game.

I agree 100% with Kevin Bell.

Hi, it's a shame to come so close. I'd still like to back on your site but one question, do the rewards cascade down like on Kickstarter? And also the Fund/Pledge option might confuse some people?

    13. Kevin Bell on December 16, 2013

"Second" chances on Kickstarter are often successful; moreso than private crowd funding sites - I wish you all the best!
