New Rituals & Spells
“The man who had brought me now squirmed to a point directly beside the hideous flame, and made stiff ceremonial motions to the semicircle he faced. At certain stages of the ritual they did grovelling obeisance, especially when he held above his head that abhorrent Necronomicon he had taken with him; and I shared all the obeisances because I had been summoned to this festival by the writings of my forefathers.” (The Festival; H.P. Lovecraft)
.Mythos cultists perform rituals of mysteries that none living should understand. Why should they have all the fun? Once this goal is reached, we’ll include a number of new spells in the book.
If you’d like to go deep into the mysteries of the Mythos, we’ll also include an entirely new optional ritual magic system.
Caster beware, we’ll give you the rituals, but you’re responsible for what happens when you use them!
The Mythos has many different magic elements. Most are focused on summoning or contacting Things from Beyond, but not all. In the Case of Charles Dexter Ward, for example, an evil sorcerer casts a spell that he clearly expects to strike down his opponent, and only fails because the hero casts his own spell more quickly.
