The Stars are (very nearly) Right!
All of the plastic figures have been produced!
That’s right, ALL of them. This means that there now exist thousands of Azathoths, Elder Things, Wendigos, etc. ready to unleash upon the word. At this time, the factory is in the final stage of completing the printing of the paper & cardboard. The next step is to collate all the items into the boxes (it wouldn’t do to have a Tsathoggua inside the Windwalker box, would it?) Once collation is complete, all will be shipped! This time, we are told we will have a tracking number for the ship (and down the line). Then, once the packages are organized at the fulfillment house in the port, you will get your own personal tracking number, and can follow your package to your door. We are using a different, more experienced, shipping company. This company is costing us slightly more money, but we are paying for it, not you. It provides way better service, which is what’s important.
We also got some bad news (not for you, but for Petersen Games). The EU “discovered” Kickstarter in February, and is now enforcing VAT on all items – it can no longer be avoided by labeling things “rewards” nor “gifts” nor can we label an item as having a value less than what was paid. This significantly increases Petersen Games’ costs in shipping to Europe. You still don’t have to pay it – we are doing it on your behalf. But it has bumped up our costs by an unexpected approximately $50,000 which makes us sad.
Below is a low-rez .jpeg of the cardboard tokens for the Yuggoth map. The brain cylinder tokens are exactly the right size to sit on top of a plastic gate. The triangular tokens in the lower right hand corner are (from left to right): The Watcher Token, the Slime token, the No Slimes Allowed token, and the Laboratory. Just so you know, the Slime, No Slime, and Lab token are NOT used on the Yuggoth map - they are included for people to use in their own home-brew designs to use aspects of Yuggoth on other maps.
Repeat of previous information!
Please take care of this if it has slipped off your radar! If you have ordered any Cthulhu Wars items beyond the core game (whether via the original Kickstarter or pre-ordered from our website or at a convention), you should have been sent an email from email@example.com.
In that email you should see your address. If it is incorrect, please click the big "Update my Address" button. This link takes you to a page where you can update your address. After submitting it on that page, you will see ALL the items you have ordered. If the address is correct, you still need to click "Update" if you want to see all the items you have ordered.
You do NOT need to have or create a CrowdOx login to update your address nor to see your items. If your address is correct already, and you do not click the "Update" button, we will still ship your items. But it's nice to know that you have consciously seen it and confirmed.
If you have any issues or questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Onslaught Two still coming
I’d like to discuss Cthulhu Wars Onslaught Two for a bit, and its purpose. Due to various delays, increased costs, and the EU’s renewed rapacity, we found that we could not afford to produce EXTRA copies of the expansions for sale in stores.
Do not fear – all of the copies which original backers and pre-orders contracted for are still on the way. We are only talking about extra production here. Of course, the problem for us as a company is that if we produce only the backer copies, and then no more, our company has no stock to sell, and we, sooner or later, enter serious financial trouble! To avoid this fate, we are launching Cthulhu Wars Onslaught Two.
The idea is to earn enough money from new backers to be able to produce those extra copies for sales in stores. But we also are excited to be producing new material to thrill our original backers. Here’s what we have coming:
1) Ramsey Campbell’s horrific creations (he gave us permission!)
2) New monsters
3) New great old ones
4) A new map expansion (The Library of Celaeno)
5) A new first player marker
6) AND a new playable faction expansion(1).
The new stuff will be available as one single comparatively inexpensive pledge to make things easy for those who desire … completion. And of course all of the other add-ons will be available at less than MSRP for those who didn’t get them the first time around.
We are currently planning to launch Cthulhu Wars Onslaught Two in October, so many of you should have already gotten your pledges! More of you will be getting them during the new campaign.
Cultists of Cthulhu
I was recently at NecronomiCon in Providence and had a chance to look over a project, currently on kickstarter, named Cultists of Cthulhu. It is kinda sorta a cross between Elder Sign and Betrayal at House on the Hill (both games I enjoy), but it is also its own beast. You may be interested in checking it out here.
