Dear friends and supporters of dance,
Thank you for checking out our page! With your support, we will be able to successfully premiere our new work, Approximate Location, at Dance Place in Washington, DC on December 9, 10 & 11, 2011. Your generous contribution will go directly toward renting studio space for rehearsals, costuming our cast of six dancers, creating promotional materials, and paying our talented and selfless collaborators, including musicians and videographers.
We are a postmodern dance company in our first season, and we are so grateful for any support that can help us show our work, grow as a professional company, and collaborate with other local artists.
What is Approximate Location?
This project is a movement exploration of the term ‘proximity’ and its many meanings. In our choreographic process, we’ve been exploring proximity to each other, the floor, and various body parts, and so much more. We’ve also been playing with the emotional sense of the word.
We began our process in May 2011, when we were commissioned by the Eureka Dance Festival to create a new work. We’ve got the choreography, the performance venue, the dates…now we just need your support to see this project come to life!
Who we are:
Choreography: Hayley Cutler
Dancers: Barbara Caldwell, Jennifer Caulk, April Gruber, Tiffany ‘Jonezy’ Jones, Felicia Stevens, Cara Zimbalist
Music: DJ Oscar Paul Whiteman
Any contribution you can give will help us realize our goal of bringing this exciting postmodern work to a broad audience. If you can join us for the show, too, we’d love to meet you and thank you in person for your kind support! Please check out www.darlingdance.com or http://www.danceplace.org/dance-performances/eureka-dance-festival/ for ticket info!
Thank you again,
