Cute Kitten Video (Please Watch) is a comedy movie that follows two high school students (Stewart and JW) and two inept high school security officers (Tom and Ted) through the first week of school. While Stewart and JW are having run-ins with Butch, the school bully, Tom and Ted are constantly getting into trouble with Principal Butthole for being incompetent.
Stewart and JW become close friends—they eat together in the same diner every morning and stay after school most days to work on building a time machine for the upcoming science fair. Though they have each other, the two students find little support from anyone else, and Stewart’s home life keeps him bordering on depression.
When Tom lets down his guard at the school dance, Butch drugs JW’s punch. As a result, Tom is fired and forced to go back in time to save his job. Of course, Tom only makes things worse as his actions start to have a direct effect on Stewart and JW.
What are we doing?
We are trying to raise enough money to continue production on our feature film, "Cute Kitten Video (Please Watch)." Our goal is to raise at least $3,000 to cover the continuing accumulation of production costs.
Who are we?
Josh Luckenbach and Keaton Monger, both recent graduates of the University of Virginia. While in school, Luckenbach served as the president of UVA’s long form improv comedy group, Amuse Bouche. He also co-founded UVA’s first sketch/video comedy group, La Petite Teet. Monger also performed with La Petite Teet and served as Director of Productions for the Filmmaker’s Society. He has worked for four years as an instructor at Light House Studio in Charlottesville, VA. Several of the films he oversaw the production of have been accepted in large competitions such as the LA Film Festival.
Luckenbach and Monger's previous works have won audience choice awards at the Virginia Film Festival Adrenaline Competition. View the award-winning short-film here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cspPyquRWcY
Luckenbach and Monger have written many short sketches and screenplays together, but this feature-length movie is their largest project yet.
Where's my money going?
Set design, props, feeding actors, the entrance fee to send our film to festivals, and eventually DVD production costs. Our goal of $3,000 dollars is our lowest estimation of the costs.
How does kickstarter work?
No money changes hands unless we reach our $3,000 goal. You pledge the amount of money that you'd like to donate, but only once we have reached our goal does the money actually transfer.
Where can I learn more about the project?
On our website! www.CuteKittenVideoPleaseWatch.com.
Will my pledge amount be publicly displayed?
No. Only you and the project creator will be able to see your pledge amount.
Once I donate, when can I redeem the incentive?
All incentives will only happen if our goal is met. Once that happens, your name will be put on the website immediately. We will also begin shipping any of the incentives that can possibly be shipped at that stage. Obviously, things like DVDs and screenings won't be able to take place until after movie is finished. Basically, you will receive any part of the incentive (like posters) as fast as we can send them. Other things, will depend on the completion of the film.
When will the movie be completed?
We aren't sure yet. Our current goal is to have it ready to send to festivals by mid-2012. That means the DVDs will be ready shortly after.
No problem, there is a button that you can select if you don’t want the reward.
YES! This would truly be amazing. Our goal of $3,000 is a very low estimation. We are keeping the goal low because we desperately need funding to continue production. If the goal isn't low enough then we run the risk of receiving nothing. But, Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline!
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
