About this project
"Grief Splattered Canvas" is a film noir movie that I am producing myself from a screenplay I wrote specifically for a group of actors from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, one of the top ten acting programs in the United States. My wife is in her final year of their three-year intesive graduate program. An aspiring filmmaker, I decided to use this opportunity to colloborate with these incredible actors, and wrote a screenplay catered specifically for the purposes of exploiting their talents.
What's the movie about? It's the story of an ex-vigilante who struggles to grieve as his wife's murderer lures him back to the violent life she saved him from.
We're seeking a modest budget for the purposes of obtaining the bare necessities. This goal number you see here is our "ideal minimum", affording us costumes, props, and occaisionally feeding the actors. As this is our first attempt at raising funds, we wanted to set that number low enough to help ensure "success" on Kickstarter, which allows for pledges to be made in excess of that goal.
It should also be noted that our desicion to move forward with this project is not dependant on our level of success beyond our goal: We are making this movie.
We would just prefer to make it with you! The more pledges we recieve beyond our goal, the greater the production value. Each additional pledge will allow us to upgrade our hardware, equipment, locations, and to feed the actors more frequently.
Beyond your good natured interst in bringing this story to the screen in the best way possible, there are also rewards! Check out the different pledge levels and the exciting rewards that come with them.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration, I hope we can work together to bring this exciting project to life.
