When four strangers meet to end their troubles, one discovers his have just begun.
What is Framed?
Framed is the story of Javier Santos, a man convinced the only way to uncover what happened to his family is to meet them in the afterlife. To ensure his passing he makes a pact with four strangers: a suicide pact.
The rules of the group are simple: 1) No personal details. 2) No talking anyone out of it. 3) Drink the poison at the appointed time and pass away peacefully.
But something goes wrong....
Who are we?
We are iFilmFlops, a team of filmmakers committed to bringing back suspense.
"It's really hard to find a quality suspense series that the whole family can watch."
You'll never see nudity or hear hard-core profanity in our series...but you will definitely see some corpses...and the chances of seeing blood are pretty good too...I wouldn't rule out the occasional severed body part either.
For the last two years we've been working together to improve our skills, competing in 48-hour contests, adding equipment little-by-little, each time getting better, to the point where we're now winning awards.
We're ready to take things to the next level.
Why do we need to raise funds?
We have literally spent every penny we have creating the pilot for Framed. Everyone has worked countless hours, late nights and weekends, with long commutes, all without getting paid (except in sandwiches).
Now, we need your help!
We need funds for locations (everything can't be shot at our house), wardrobe, makeup, blood (good blood is expensive), extra equipment, and to pay a small amount to our cast and crew. (They deserve a lot more than that.)
The funds we're raising will give us enough money to produce four more episodes for a total of five episodes in season one, each episode 15 minutes long.
But it doesn't have to stop there. The more you contribute, the higher the production value of each episode and the more episodes we can make.
Excited? When do we start?
We've already started...filming for the pilot is done and we're busy putting in the final touches.
After raising the money, we're going to film all the episodes in March through June. Then we're going to release the episodes weekly starting the first week of August. It's a very aggressive schedule but we can do it. (Who needs sleep?)
Check out the prizes, some of them will allow you to see the pilot episode early.
What can we expect next in Framed?
We have a lot of surprises and everyone in the cast and crew is sworn to secrecy but suffice it to say, nothing is as it seems. Nothing can be taken for granted, even people who appear to be dead...
Oops, I've already said too much. But check out the prizes, two of them let you read the scripts before we release the episodes.
About the prizes...
We will ship t-shirts, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs internationally but be aware that these may take longer to arrive because of distance and cost.
We can't wait to bring you Framed. Thank you for contributing!
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Other than expenses, our biggest challenge is scheduling. Everyone has jobs outside the series. Some day we all hope to do this full-time but until then we have to make sure everyone's available at the same time on the weekends.
Luckily, we gained a lot of experience meeting that challenge during our pilot. We've dealt with cast changes, sick relatives, personal illness, job conflicts, location changes, etc., but everyone in the team remained supportive and committed to the project.
We talk regularly, almost daily, through a private Facebook page and we are excited about the series and willing to work around anything to make it succeed.
We are going to do what we have to, to bring you an entire season of Framed this August, 2013.
