Help us make the first music video off of King Giant's second album, "Dismal Hollow." It will be a narrative, horror-esque video.
King Giant needs your help to make another video!
For the past 8 months we've been working hard in the basement writing songs, working on pre-production, and recording our second album, titled, Dismal Hollow. It's been a lot of hard work, but we're all really excited about it, and can't wait to share it with you!
Being an independent band, we've sunk all our money into the making of this magnum opus, so we really didn't have any grandiose expectations of making an epic music video.
Of course that was before our good friend Kevin Barker came up with an ingenious way of weaving a great narrative with a very imaginative twist with one of our new songs. I don't want to give anything away, but the overall theme will be horror-esque.
We all met and talked about it, and realized that we have to take this opportunity. The logistical and technical challenges are daunting. But after all, aren't the most fulfilling creative endeavors wrought with such obstacles?
We will tackle these logistical and technical juggernauts like we've done in the past, with power generators, duct tape, and beer..... and of course the generosity of the time and talent of dozens of people. Unfortunately, that won't still be enough....
And that's where you guys come in:
We need to raise money to help pay for equipment, crew, and talent. I wish I can say that all the talented people will get paid for their services, but really the money is to help pay for all the expenses, so that nobody has to pay out-of-pocket just for helping us.
We set our goal for $3,000. That's the minimum that we need to pull this off, but we really can use about $5,000.
Gas, food, equipment rentals, props, artist makeup, location / production insurance.... you get the idea....no beer, though, we wouldn't ask you for that, we're a BYOB kinda band anyway....
We know that simply asking for money is audacious, and most likely counter-productive. So hopefully the rewards system we devised has enough of an incentive for you to donate. Think of it as kind of Pre-order... with benefits.
Thanks for reading this whole thing. If you haven't already seen it, check out the great work that Kevin Barker and Cameron Young and Matt Doe have done with our previous videos, and help us make another video with these guys...
