With each stretch goal, the BOY/BYE project grows: from pins for your backpacks, to stickers for your laptops, to prints for your walls, to patches for your jackets.

This is my first, of what I hope to be many, art and identity crossover projects. I want to keep creating work that not only is an expression of my creative pursuits, but something that speaks and relates to others. We're also working to create those much-needed support systems for emerging artists. That's where #MIPSTERZ comes in.
Inspired by iconic women featured in the “Somewhere In America #MIPSTERZ” video.
We teamed up with #MIPSTERZ to represent women of color as we personally know them to be: badass, in solidarity, and not letting anyone waste their time.
They’ve been carving out incredible collaborative spaces bi-annually showcasing artists, geeks, entertainers, activists, and anyone with a passion. In addition to the online magazine, we hope to grow to also include mentorship programs for creative and imaginative high schoolers and young adults, particularly for people of color who need those collaborative spaces the most. Every single cent is going to support artists in their expression—fearlessly, with persistence, and to the fullest.

When we pass $3,500 total donations, we will make all the products (prints, pins, patches, and stickers) available in a limited quantity in an online store after the Kickstarter is over and at select conventions!
If somehow, by divine intervention, we are still amazingly lucky and really exceed our goal, reaching $5,000, then everyone above the $20 donation mark will eligible for an extra special edition hard-enamel pin reward!

Risks and challenges
Once the 30-day ask period is over, we will work to begin production right away. To minimize risks and maintain quality control, each product has already been sent for proofs to various companies, re-designed, proofed again until we were proud of what we showed you all. Pins, packaging, stickers, patches, and prints all come from production companies we trust and had good experience with in the past.
By going through separate companies, we also ensure that any unexpected bumps with one product won't bring the whole project to a halt.
While this is our first Kickstarter, both I as the main illustrator and #MIPSTERZ have been producing these kinds of products for conventions and online stores for a few years now, and are familiar with what the challenges are.
It will take up to 6-8 weeks to get the pins, stickers, patches, and prints made all with regular updates at each step through Kickstarter updates, email, and social media.
Once the orders are received, they will be checked for quality and sent out with priority shipping!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
