Alphabet Dragon goes to Book Fair
$44.00
4

Alphabet Dragon has gone to Mark Twain Elementary school for the annual book fair. Help it come home afterwards. This is a short campaign that people can show support for bringing this piece of art to a school. The Dragon was painted by Kindergarten students Richard and Molly with the support of their parents. Richard actually named the dragon the "Alphabet Dragon" and insisted it should be covered in letters. So, he invited Molly and they glued letters all over the Alphabet Dragon. (Strange how many strange places a kids can get Elmer's glue.)

The Alphabet Dragon is on display at Mark Twain Elementary. Different from more classical exhibits, children are encouraged to touch the art. The Kindergarten classes will actually be able to glue their own letters on the Dragon and contribute towards an evolving piece of art. This is to help kids understand they can become incredible makers instead of just consumers.

Lets be clear. This Dragon is coming home. One way or another, the stay at Mark Twain Elementary end on November 17th a Friday at noon. From there we can get somewhat creative.

Our weather team has a "huge" budget. They have access to many of the most advanced tools: on and above the planet: Weather Channel, Crazy Guy on the corner and what ever app is on the iPhone for weather. Sure they may have underestimated a few recent hurricanes, but lets not over react. They are still free.

Like many of us, the Alphabet Dragon has had a history of change that has brought it to it's present incantation. It began as the top of an Art Car and has evolved into it's own stand alone piece of art. The goal has always been the same, be a piece of art that kids can touch and be inspired by. Every upgrade and modification has been to that end.

I am not looking to get rich, but rather to have some fun on Kickstarter and fund a project my wife and I already believe in personally.

Any excess funds raised will go to Mark Twain PTO.

Art can not happen without time and materials. The Alphabet Dragon has been funded by Bad Date Cards. Bad Date Cards is a party game that is still in development and will relaunch some day soon on Kickstarter.

Risks and challenges
The Risks and Challenges have been listed in the project description above. The Alphabet Dragon has already been delivered to Mark Twain Elementary and only needs some help getting back home.
