About

Story

Upon loading the game Sparky and Penny notices that the world around them is lacking colour, sound and life, and to top that off they find that they are unable to jump and Attack.

Our two monkeys must manipulate the colliders, character's size, the terrain, gravity, fix obstacles and glitches in order to progress through the game and find out what caused all this to happen.

GamePlay

The game is going to be sort of  like a Metroid but with more platforming elements.

The game will be divided into two sections. The first section will be linear where you'll find scripts for the Jump, Walljump, Hammerdrill Attack and the Goggles (although once you got the Jump and Hammerdrill Attack scripts you can do the other two in any order you want).

The second section will be completely nonlinear (the difficulty will be harder the further out from the center you go). In this section you'll find the scripts for power-ups, flicking switches, flipping terrain, gravity and changing the players size (you'll also be able to buy some of these scripts in the first section from sign post).

Add colour to the game world.

  • Fix the terrain by activating grey blocks and defeating enemies, this will also add things like ladders, Platform, Springs and enemies to the scene.
  • Collect props and background tiles to make world come alive.

Colliders

  • Toggle green Colliders to create Platforms, open up new routes or deflect enemies.
  • Blue Colliders are timed blocks.
  • Activate orange colliders to deactivate Light Blue Colliders and vice versa.
  • Activate red colliders to make the level a little harder.

Use the goggles to see whats there and see what isn't.

  • The goggles can be used to find hidden areas.
  • They can also be used to see things that are invisible (not nothing invisible will cause you harm).

Use the robot to grab thing things, give the character a boost and manipulate the character's movements.

  • Use the little robot to grab things.
  • Give the character a boost to higher areas.
  • Manipulate the character's movements.
  • And other glitches.

Change the size of the character to fit into small gaps to find tiles, treasure and shortcuts

  • Change the size of the character to fit into small gaps to find tiles, treasure and shortcuts.
  • It can also be used to glitch through platforms.

Flip the terrain

  •  Flipping the terrain can help the player advance through the level, find secrets, alternative paths and shortcuts.

The game been developed in unity and is programmed by using Playmaker.

I do plan on having a post game where you have few short but challenging levels to playthrough.

Release

I'm planning on releasing the My Monkey Fix on steam for PC and Mac, but if I can't get it on steam the game will be released on other online stores and if all else fails I will sell it off my own website.

I'm planning on releasing the game around Q3/2016 but it may be released a before then.

What is the funding for?

The funding will be used for art, animation programming, equitment, test and polish.

I also want to able the game to have it own original music soundtrack so it has it's own musical identity (the music in the video won't in the game or Soundtrack).

If I can't raise the funding here the game will still be released but may take longer to make.

Risks and challenges

I'm working on the game alone, so delays may happen, but I do have some of the levels already mapped out so level design isn't going to take too long, the levels I have done do need rigging up and tweaking a bit.
