Questions: Does your life need more amazing-ness? Answer: Yes.
About this project
My brother Scott would have wanted nothing less.
Now, help bring his amazingness back to life in this legacy project, including everything AMAZING, all made and inspired by the one, the only, Scott Thomas Peterson.
- A mind-blowing picture book, The Orb, about the quirky journey of life.
- A card deck, called "Rantings," with Scott's thought-provoking quotes.
- An original song by Laura titled "Be Amazing," dedicated to Scott.
- Scott's speech trophies.
and more!
In 2011, Tragedy struck.
Scott - my older brother and only sibling - took his life, in a horrific unfolding of events spanning nine months. I tell you: nothing has shocked me more in my life. He was a phenomenal friend, brother, son, intellect, and creative. He had an innate talent for lighting up a room when he walked in, though you might find him, just as often, sitting in the back corner, one eyebrow raised with the hint of a smile, soaking up everyone.
My life took a huge turn when Scott died.
Loss and grief can be crippling, gut-wrenching. Even the thought of life without Scott was unimaginable. He was my gravity, pulling me to the earth in our own unique celestial harmony. Without him, I didn’t know who I was. Which meant without him, I was responsible for finding out.
I’d be lying if I said this journey in loss has been easy. It hasn’t. But what has surprised me is the magnitude of tragedy has been matched with a magnitude of gratitude. I learned that I’m not without Scott, even now. I find him in his random quotes I come across, which somehow give me the exact advice I need at that moment. I find him in the book I discovered from his fifth grade project. I find him in songs, on stage, in glistening spider webs threaded in the grass.
I have learned beauty can be found in grief.
And growth. And tenderness. And an inherent appreciation of life’s preciousness. If our loved ones, past and present, could ask one thing of us, I imagine it would be to remember how precious our lives are.
This is what Scott and I want to share with you: the amazing-ness of life.
It’s quirky, unpredictable, and rich. There is undeniable sadness, and also joy.
May these gifts, Be Amazing. From Scott, With Love, be the reminder you need to smile, embrace, and forgive, through all of life's ups and downs. Life’s too short to have it any other way.

Inspired by Scott to Be Amazing I co-wrote this song, and recorded it, with none other than the fantastic musician and famous Vine personality Dustin Hatzenbuhler (yeah, I didn't know what Vine was either. Where's my money going?!
Good question, my friends. The majority of the funds are going towards the production, design, and shipping of your fantastic (dare I say amazing?) rewards. Any funds left over will go towards the publication of my upcoming memoir of Scott's loss, What the Heart Says (see below), and mental health awareness/support. If you'd like to know more about my initiates send me a message and I'd be happy to share more!

Hi friends. Thank you so much for stopping by. It truly means the world to me.
I've been many things in my life, and one thing has always remained: I'm a storyteller. Whether in verbal or written form, I believe in the power of storytelling to connect us, to heal us, and above all, to give us a hearty laugh (the ultimate belly laugh was a Scott specialty).
Stories are how I make sense of the world; how I understand pain, suffering, loss, insecurities, as well as joy, wonder, serendipity. After Scott died, I started writing my story about his loss and my journey in healing, which took me all the way to New Zealand, where Scott had lived a few years prior.
Writing this story was the only way I could incorporate Scott's death into my life. It's not an easy story to tell, and it's not always an easy story to read. Life isn't easy. But you know what else? Life is exceptional. It's beautiful. And it's the most fleeting, precious thing I'll ever own. The best thing I can think to do for me, for Scott, is to share my story with you.
Stay informed about the progress of my memoir, What the Heart Says HERE, and get a Kickstarter exclusive look at the book HERE, because I love you oh so much and I couldn't do this without you.
