Thanks to Lufthansa...and You...We are Off to Europe!!!

Dear Backer,

The time has come. Thanks to your generous support the Stanley Marcus documentary crew will be traveling to Europe for nine confirmed interviews. We are also honored to announce a sponsorship with Lufthansa airlines. They have graciously made this trip possible along with your wonderful support.

When do we leave you ask? Today. We have been working everyday to make this trip a reality. And now, thanks to you this dream is coming true.

A special thanks is due to the wonderful donors who have stepped up to sponsor individual interviews. Jan Strimple, world-renowned model and fashion producer extraordinaire has graciously led the way with sponsoring the Pierre Bergé interview. As most requested model of Yves Saint Laurent, she exclaimed, "This is a no-brainer." The Dallas Market Center was our first $2500 Backer on Kickstarter and has maximized a $2500 matching grant put up by an angel donor. Thank you for stepping up to the plate. Heritage Auctions is synonymous with the name Hermés. They currently hold the world record for the sale of an Hermés bag on the secondary market. We cannot thank Heritage Auctions enough for recognizing the value in telling this compelling story of a man who created so much opportunity. As M3 Films confidante and trusted advisor, Liener Temerlin, states, "[Mr. Stanley] set the style for Dallas." Thank you all for continuing to represent the style and class that Mr. Stanley helped define.

Below is an outline of our current production schedule. We have been taking meetings with individuals who were close to Mr. Stanley and those familiar with the impact each participant represents toward this film. If you have any questions, insight or a story you would like to share about any of our interviews, please do. You never know, we may ask Givenchy a question you directed toward us.

May 21: Depart on Lufthansa Airlines from DFW to Frankfurt, Germany – connecting flight to Paris on Lufthansa Airlines

May 22: Arrive in Paris

May 23: Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune

May 24: Capture b-roll in areas Mr. Stanley would visit (flea market, Charvet, etc.)

May 25: Xavier Guerrand-Hermés

May 27: Emanuel Ungaro

May 28: Pierre Bergé

May 29: Travel to Florence

May 30: Marchesa Laudomia Pucci
Mrs. Salvatore (Wanda) Ferragamo

May 31: Contessa Sibilla della Gheradesca
Marchesa Idanna Pucci

TBD: Mrs. Rosita Missoni

As many of you may be aware Ottavio “Tai” Missoni recently passed away. This is combined with the loss of Mr. and Mrs. Missoni’s son, Vittorio, and his wife, Maurizia. Our hearts go out to them at this time. We will be on immediate standby if Mrs. Missoni is able to participate on-camera. She was eager to share stories of Mr. Stanley with Tai when we first reached out last year.

We will be updating our M3 Films and Stanley Marcus Facebook page along with our M3 Films Twitter page during our travel. Producer, Jason Cirone, will be posting pictures and documenting the trip as time allows. Producer, Mike Mullins, will be leading the interviews with the impressive list of names above. Frankey Dey of Lascaux Films will be the Cinematographer for the European production complementing the work from his trip to NYC with the crew in September. Crystal Ruffu will be keeping the trendsetters looking sharp on set as the Stylist. All the links to follow are below to ensure you do not miss any updates, photographs or other buzz.

Greetings From our West Coast Interviews

Dear Backer,

The M3 FILMS team had an opportunity to capture three interviews in LA earlier this week. The first interviewee we would like to introduce you to is Beverly Morgan Morsey.

When in the early 40’s a young Beverly Morgan took on some free-lance modeling work for Neiman Marcus, little did she realize the impact Stanley Marcus would have on her life. During the Christmas season, he observed her wrapping a personal gift, struck by its originality and charm. Wasting no time, he called her into his office and asked her to not only design specialty wraps for the store but to start a gift-wrapping/packaging department. Completely untrained but blessed with enormous creativity and confidence, her “Why not?” response resulted in gift wraps of such appeal that NM soon became famous for them.

From packaging and graphic layouts, she designed apparel for the store and oversaw Mr. Stanley’s celebrated weekly fashion shows at the Baker Hotel in downtown Dallas. Her “handkerchief doll” (created to boost slow sales at the handkerchief counter) became a perennial best seller in numerous incarnations. A highly regarded artist today, she remembers with joy the simpatico environment for creativity that Stanley Marcus and his brothers championed.

It is our pleasure to share a photo of the elegant Mrs. Beverly Morgan Morsey. Please note the beautiful paintings behind her are all from her creative hand and eye.

Regards,

The M3 Films Team
