About this project
Many thanks to all who participated in this project! Thanks to Kickstarter we had a great opportunity to share our idea with many amazing people! Moreover, while we haven't raised funds for our project we've reached our main goal! We've found wonderful people from a great game company who decided to help us with the developing and promoting. With their help we've finished an unbelievable update for our game.
The new game name is 2012 ELECTION.
Find it at the App Store! Play and Vote!
THE MAIN PURPOSE
Who is winning? Donkeys or Elephants? Let's check it out together!
We believe that this project can predict the winner of the coming presidential election because of its main feature. That is the game's global score. When a person plays the game for his/her favorite, the score gets sent to a database where it gets added to the global score. In the app everyone can view who is winning - Donkeys or Elephants (Democrats or Republicans) by comparing the global scores. The main purpose of our crowdfunding is to promote and advertise this game in order to involve more players and make the global score absolutely correct and showing the true winner. Below you could read more about the game and our goals.
Remember, if you do donate, you will only be charged if the project meets its budget goal!
THE MAIN IDEA
Can a mobile game predict the winner of the next presidential and follow-up elections? We believe that we all together will be able to figure it out!
In the latter part of this year, another round of elections will be held in the US for the presidential, congressional and gubernatorial positions. While the hopefuls for these positions are busy campaigning and performing electoral tasks, everyone, the law-abiding voter, can sit back and watch their every publicized move. Alternatively, he/she can have fun and play Donkeys and Elephants on their mobile devices.
Donkeys and Elephants is going to be a harmless little game that pits the funny donkey, the mascot of the Democratic Party, against the amusing elephant, the symbol of the Republican Party. Are you a Democratic Donkey or a Republican Elephant? The game will let every player choose between the two animals at the start of each session, supposedly based on their political allegiance, but he/she can switch animals later on if they’re so inclined.
The game is going to support Game Center integration as well as score sharing via Facebook and Twitter. However, the most important fact that points scored in the game will be compiled on the special on-line data base, from where every player will be able to track his/her points along with other players, and see which party is winning more points or "votes." With a couple months to go before the elections take place, everyone will have plenty of time to support his/her favorite party.
While users will have two choices, which include a Democratic Donkey and a Republican Elephant, even those not interested in politics, we believe, will still love the game play of this exciting game! It will simply need to choose the mascot and start playing this exciting game, where he/she will definitely have a voice in the presidential and follow-up elections by having fun!
To be sure everyone will be able to check progress and global score in the special section of this game. It is going to be an original public opinion research to answer the question, "Can the game predict the winners of the election races?"
The important battle now and in the coming months is between Donkeys and Elephants. Let’s play with fun and vote!

WHO ARE WE?
We are father and son working together to create this mobile game. We recently created the pilot game and posted it in App Store. It was a light version, but we decided that we would improve this game and promote it. With your help we can make Donkeys and Elephants: Chow Down one of the top social games. We will also port it to android devices to make it accessible to everyone.
“I am a 14-year-old student, who loves computers and apps, and spends most of his free time developing apps. My first experience with app development was when I downloaded a game template from the Corona, and changed it. My dad made all graphics and our game was ready. That is how we created our first game and how I discovered everything about the app development process and game creating. Of course both of us were eager to make more games! In a short time later my dad and I had a talk. He said that he had an idea for a mobile game that is related to politics, and would attract both young people and adults, “You could program, and I will make all the graphics.” I answered to my dad, “Let's make the app!” We started working. I wrote the script from scratch (with lots of help from the Corona API documentation, various tutorials, and the amazing Corona community on the forum). In about two and half months we were done with the light pilot version the game called Donkeys and Elephants: Chow-Down. But we have wanted to perfect the game! So we decided to make a major update with an in game store, global score (you can see who is winning, Donkeys or Elephants), and with many other useful functions such as Facebook and Twitter. I am quite proud of the games that I have been creating with my dad,” (Stiven Deleur)
"I am very proud about my son and the game we've been creating together. I believe that this game definitely can make a difference for our society by involving youth in the political life," (Alex Deleur)
WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR? WHY DO WE NEED FUNDING?
- The money is going to be spent for supporting us in basic development expenses in this very important final phase. We have been self-funding for months but now we are asking for your support to help us get over this project on time.
- Most of all we need funds for promoting and advertising Chow-Down through various media to attract more players and make the game's global score absolutely correct and showing the true winner.
- Purchasing development hardware, such as a computer, and new phones to test game.
- Upgrading our software with latest versions to get newer tools for creating better games.
- Any funds raised beyond our goal will be used to complete Chow-Down faster and, what is more important, promote it more efficiently.
Many thanks for your interest in our project. In addition, we never would have desired to create something like this if we didn't think that there are really many awesome people out there in our community for which we can make it. The game's main idea is about exploring new opportunities of democracy - both literally and figuratively. We would love for Chow-Down to stand out as a new kind of games. So we wait for all of you with an interest in either games or elections to see how you get fun.
