Thank you for visiting our Kickstarter page! We, Ken Morris, Peggy Dennis and Scott Bennett (with us in spirit) are UnAssisted Living and we are here seeking your support and donations to help us complete our first UnAssisted Living CD.
- A bit of history:
In 2009, Bennett/Morris, the duo consisting of Scott Bennett and Ken Morris was completing their original music CD ‘Mothership’ and asked vocalist Peggy Dennis to add vocals on a couple of songs. The three of us enjoyed working together so much that we decided to embark on a new musical adventure and formed UnAssisted Living.
In early 2010, we began recording our first CD at SoundHouse, Scott’s home recording studio. Late that summer,Scott was diagnosed with cancer.
We were able to record all of Ken’s guitar and vocal tracks and Peggy’s solo vocals and layered harmonies before having to put the project on hold. You see, Scott was not only our friend, he was also our lead guitarist, engineer, and producer. The song 'Tribes' (being played on the video, but still a work in progress) is the only song Scott was able to record his vocals on. That is him singing the second verse and on the choruses as well as playing bass and percussion.
Our dear friend passed away in late October 2011. We have grieved, regrouped, and are committed to finishing this project - with Scott’s spirit guiding us as we go.
- Here’s where you, kind people, come in:
We are asking for your help in financing the remainder of this project. We still have additional vocals, guitar, drums, bass, and cello to be recorded as well as studio costs for recording, mixing and mastering. We need to pay our talented musicians a good wage for their astounding contributions, as well as CD replication, graphic design, packaging, distribution and promotion costs.
As you probably know, we have to reach our monetary goal to get any of the financial resources we need. Even if you see we have reached our goal (fingers crossed and prayers answered), please consider still contributing, as all financial aid will go towards finishing this project as brilliantly as possible.
We are filled with gratitude for any contribution you might wish to make.
Check out the cool rewards and thank you in advance!
We are working on a cd cover that will have ALL the names of people who have donated worked into the art work. Stay tuned for more updates!
