About

The box, though we are probably going to change the art.
The box, though we are probably going to change the art.

Trillionaire is a card game for 2-4 players.

This game is for all ages 7+, and we designed it to be enjoyable at all skill levels.

Casual players will have a great time playing this game out of the box, and advanced players have a ton of opportunity to customize their gameplay and employ advanced strategies. Whether you want to just play a quick game or be ultra competitive and master it, you'll have fun either way!

If you've heard enough about gameplay, skip down to the pretty art. Otherwise, here's a ton of information on gameplay. It's really fun.

TYPES OF CARDS IN TRILLIONAIRE (VIDEO):

QUOTES/REVIEWS:

"Likely to be good for any in the Pokemon or CCG crowd”

- Bryan K. (TPK Gaming)

"Pain in the.… But that’s fun. If you like the Red Dragon Inn, try Trillionaire! After waking up from being dead drunk in Red Dragon Inn, sue everyone who conned you. That’s the game Trillionaire.”

- Ryan 'Skip' Sego (TPK Gaming)

HERE'S HOW THE GAME PLAYS:

If you've ever played Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! or Magic: The Gathering, this is going to be familiar to you.

Every player starts with a pre-configured 60-card deck. If you like, you can customize your deck using specific rules, just like in other customizable deck games. That being said, the included, pre-configured decks are super fun to play with and are very balanced.

PARTS OF A TURN:

1. DRAW 2 CARDS, and then you may perform any of the following actions, in any order:

- PLAY up to 3 Control Cards

- ASCEND your Standard Billionaire with its corresponding Super Billionaire from your hand (can't be done on the same turn that Standard Billionaire Card was put into play).

- "LAWYER UP" (add 1 Lawyer Card to) either your Active or Backup Billionaires. Retreat your Active Billionaire using Lawyer Cards that are attached to that Billionaire (Discard 1 Lawyer Card to retreat a Standard and 2 Lawyer Cards

- INVEST your Cash Cards

- PURCHASE your Buy Card by discarding 2 cards from your hand, placing your Buy Card into your hand, and replacing it with another face-down card from the top of your deck.

- BANK YOUR TRILLION. If you had 10 Cash Cards Invested on any of your previous turns, you may attempt to Bank your Trillion to win the game!

2. SUE an Opponent's Billionaire(s), which ends your turn.

MORE ABOUT POWERING UP YOUR BILLIONAIRES AND SUING OPPONENTS:

Play starts with two stacks of cards per player. 10 Cash Cards in one stack, and all your other cards in your deck, which will be randomly drawn throughout play.

To start the game, all players draw cards face-up from their decks until every player draws at least 1 Standard Billionaire Card. Players then place a Standard Billionaire Card on the table. This is their Active Billionaire, which is there to Sue and be Sued by opponents.

On your turn, you may also put up to three Standard Billionaires on the table as Backups. In the event that your Active Billionaire is Bankrupted, you'll need a Backup Billionaire to replace your Active. You may also Retreat your Active and replace it with a Backup, at a cost.

Suing is attacking. In order to Sue, you must power up your Billionaire with Lawyer Cards. You may attach 1 Lawyer Card per turn to any of your Billionaires on the table.

WHAT'S WITH THE DIFFERENT ART-STYLES?

We love art, and since each Dimension is a new world and a new theme in the game, it seemed like a great way to appeal to all types of players and not get married to a single style. Play with your favorite, or love them all like we do!

Our goal was to make a strategic card game you can play with anyone you know. To explain, we enjoy games like Pokemon, but it's hard to get friends and family who aren't into Pokemon to play it with us, for a couple reasons:

1. If they don't like the themes in a game or feel like they don't "get it", they'll be less likely to give it a shot, and

2. TCGs/CCGs require a large time and money commitment to play them at their highest (and most fun) level.

It's really a shame that, because of these barriers to entry, so many people don't get a chance to experience the super-fun game mechanics and competitive play found in trading card games. So we've made our game cheaper, made the pre-configured decks so good that you won't be missing out on potential fun if you only play with those, and painstakingly selected fantastic artists with different styles so you can bring the game to any gathering and everyone can have a deck with an art style they enjoy!

As the proud owner of Trillionaire, you would of course choose your favorite deck first.

CONCEPT:

We drew inspiration for our Billionaire characters from real-life billionaires (maybe you can spot some of those), possible future billionaires (asteroid miner, rogue AI, to name a couple), and other concepts (like the Millennials Succeed! Dimension).

What would billionaires from other worlds look like? What would they be? How could they make billions in their vastly-different worlds? We had fun coming up with the answers to that, and while this is a card game, you can probably figure out some of our concepts just from the awesome art!

Speaking of the art, look, one art-style for each dimension! Weird, right? Well, we're talking about totally different worlds here. Why would they look the same? Bill Gates as a cartoon object might look like... Well, see for yourself!

HOW THE BILLIONAIRE CARDS ARE USED IN THE GAME:

Billionaire Cards are your character cards, and you use them to battle opponents' Billionaires. One of your Billionaires must always be on the table ready to Sue and be Sued. This is called your Active Billionaire.

You power up your Billionaires with Lawyer Cards, and Lawsuits are your attacks. During your turn, you can Sue an opponent, play Control Cards (which give you the ability to take cards from your opponents' hands, heal your Billionaires, attach extra Lawyer Cards, and much more). You can also use your VETO Card, one of which is in every deck, if you happened to draw one.

Lawsuits (and design, obviously) not final. Tell us what you want!
Lawsuits (and design, obviously) not final. Tell us what you want!

We are very excited to be offering a Kickstarter Exclusive Backer-Created Standard Billionaire Card, to be included in every 4-player box! This card will never be available anywhere else once our first print-run runs out. Because of minimum print-run numbers, we will likely have some extra Kickstarter copies of the game which we will offer on our website until they run out. After that, no more copies of this card will ever be available again.

If you want to play with this card, you will be able to swap it out with any other Standard Billionaire Card in any deck.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

Leave us a comment here with the following:

1. Which of the 4 Dimensions you want your Billionaire to be from (Neato Prime, Millennials Succeed!, Bermuda Wormhole or Earth+).

2. The name of your Billionaire

3. A description of your Billionaire (what made them their fortune, their appearance, and any other facts you'd like to include)

4. Security strip quote. We have a little quote for each billionaire in the "security strip" graphic on each card. Punny jokes relating to your billionaire are especially welcome.

5. OPTIONAL: The real-life Billionaire your Billionaire is based on. This is totally optional, but might be more fun for you.

We will go through all the comments and announce our favorite Billionaire concept on the final day of the campaign!

If your Billionaire concept is chosen your name will be on the bottom of the card for all to see!

In this dimension, cartoon objects can be billionaires, too, and some may even remind you of human billionaires from our own dimension.

In Neato Prime, everything is more fun! These characters are using their fortunes to make their world more entertaining for everyone, but they each want to do things their own way, and some of them may be tempted into a more self-serving lifestyle once they see how things are done in other worlds.

All of the below cards are included in the 4-player game.

These characters did exactly what their parents told them to do, and in their dimension, it made them billionaires!

In the Millennials Succeed! Dimension, money is used only for the betterment of society as a whole, and everyone is happy to give to those who they think will do that best.

Here, everything is fair, and everyone gets what they need. The advent of interdimensional travel, however, has introduced this world to other perspectives, and some of these philanthropic billionaires may betray their values when they see there's something else out there.

All of the below cards are included in the 4-player game.

These misfit sci-fi billionaires are from advanced worlds, and succeeded in futuristic industries before traveling through a wormhole, putting them together in the same place. Some are here by chance; some were banished here from their homeworlds.

In this dimension, scientific advancement is the top priority, and some of these billionaires are interested in only that. Others. though, are more interested in science for the purpose of world domination, getting back home, or in carving out their own little kingdom.

All of the below cards (and more) are included in the 4-player game.

*The covered-up cards still need final art.

Something about these billionaires seems familiar... but in this dimension, they've got some extra pizzazz, hence the "+".

In this dimension, the High Renaissance never ended, and everyone wants everything to be beautiful. All these billionaires have the heart of an artist. Imagine a world of Michelangelos. Imaginative thinkers, inventors and amazing artists, all.

There is a possible dark side to all this beauty, however. If these billionaires lose sight of their humanity, they could be tempted to become tyrants in ivory towers.

All of the below cards (and more) are included in the 4-player game.

*The covered-up cards still need final art.

Worth $100 Billion each, Cash Cards are the heart of the game. If you successfully get 10 Cash Cards on the table, you may attempt to Deposit them to win the game!

Cash Cards can also be sued to boost your Lawsuits and heal your Billionaires, but at a great cost. If you choose to use a Cash Card from your hand to boost a Lawsuit or heal a needy Billionaire, you are 1 less Cash Card away from the Trillion you need to win the game, so be careful.

Lawyer Cards have only one purpose: to be attached to your Billionaire Cards, powering them up to enable them to Sue your opponents. Without them, your Billionaires wouldn't be able to do anything except sit there looking cool.

Lawyer Cards come in "Standard" and "Power" varieties, and are designated on other cards as "L"s. A Standard Lawyer counts as 1L, and a Power Lawyer counts as 2L. A 3rd type of Lawyer Card (Dimensional Lawyers) come in Expansion Packs 1-4.

VETO Cards give you a chance to stop any action in the game, including another player Banking their Trillion and winning the game. If you draw your VETO Card, you're going to want to hold onto it until you really need it, unless you really like taking chances.

VETO Cards are one-of-a-kind, and all players get just one in their deck. Typically, VETO Cards are only used in the most desperate of situations, but some players employ more advanced (and risky) strategies.

If someone manages to get your VETO Card our of your hand (by playing a Sabotage or Trillattack Control Card against you, among other things), you may find yourself willing to do anything to get it back, including discarding cards from your hand to purchase your Buy Cards, any of which could be your VETO Card.

After using or discarding your VETO Card for any reason, you must re-shuffle your Discard Pile back into your deck. So if you do lose your VETO Card, you still have a chance to get it back before someone tries to Deposit their Trillion to win the game.

Control Cards, if you play them well, help you sway the game in your favor. Some involve greater risk, but have a greater reward.

Typically, each player may play up to 3 Control Cards from their hand per turn any time after drawing 2 cards and Suing. The order you play them in, and whether you forget to play the ones you wanted, can make all the difference.

We made everything as inexpensive as possible for our backers while still giving you a top-quality product. While we might not make any money with this Kickstarter, we really wanted to get the game to as many people as possible!

Expansions, before the game is even released?! Outrageous!

Just kidding, this probably isn't your first day on Kickstarter. But if you are actually wondering, why are we releasing Expansion Packs right away?

After we got the 4-player game exactly how we wanted it, we still had more ideas and ways to (some might say unnecessarily) spice things up even more, and we didn't want to just keep those ideas on ice. At the same time, if we added more to the 4-player game, it might be a bit too much for more casual players. Some of these cards will add time to a turn and make things more advanced/complicated. I'm not trying to talk you out of getting the Expansions. They are awesome and we love them, but we're the kind of people who like to keep adding on more strategy and variable gameplay experiences until we are forced to stop. Maybe you are, too.

Think of this as the Director's Cut of Trillionaire: The Card Game. Or if that bores you, think about this as the same pizza but with more toppings, or something. I don't know. This is more stuff for your Trillionaire, and we recommend it to anyone, but especially to people who like really getting into their games and making things more strategic/complicated.

If you want to customize your deck(s), these Expansions are made for you.

WHAT'S IN THE EXPANSIONS?

Each of the first 4 Expansions includes 30 cards total:

- 15 Dimensional Cash Cards (a cosmetically new Cash Card themed with art from its Dimension)

- 2 new Standard Billionaires and 1 Super Billionaire counterpart (3 copies of each type so you can max each card type out in your Deck or have several Decks with 1 each)

- 1 new Control Card type (3 copies so you can max this out in your custom Deck if you wish or share between Decks)

- 1 Dimentional Lawyer (Brand NEW card type not included in the 4-Player game adding a new mechanic! 3 copies)

The ORIGINS Control Card Expansion Pack includes:

- 10 new Control Card types, 3 copies of each, 30 cards total

We've put a lot of time and effort into refining these cards and mechanics, so rest assured these are going to be just as good as the cards in the 4-player game.

So here they are, with non-final art versions hidden as much as possible while still giving you an idea of what you'll be getting:

*Cash Card and Dimensional Lawyer Cards still need final art. Other art is subject to change as well, but is less likely to.

*Cash Card and Dimensional Lawyer Cards still need final art. Other art is subject to change as well, but is less likely to.

We are TAGBOI Games LLC, a newly-formed tabletop game company. I (Tom Matz) am 29 years old, and have been full-time self-employed selling toys online with my brother and business partner Peter for the past 4+ years. We've partnered on this project with my childhood friend Paul Fischer, who has been making his own card and board games since he was very very young.

GAME BACKGROUND:

We've been working on Trillionaire for a while. From the beginning, we knew we wanted to make something of as high a quality as possible before we even put it on Kickstarter, so we've gone all-out on every aspect of this project, from game development to playtesting to artwork to the voiceover for the Kickstarter video. We have put everything into this project. What has resulted is a game that is super fun to play, and looks great.

GAME DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHIES AND PROGRESS:

We have a love of collectible card game mechanics like those found in Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering, but dislike their business model, which forces players to spend a lot of money and time to experience the game in its most advanced form.

In addition to having the game packaged ready-to-play with 4 great decks for casual players, Trillionaire is customizable for hardcore players, but instead of forcing advanced players to buy random booster packs to  customize their games, we will sell extra cards on-demand. This way, no one will need to spend a fortune to fully dive into our game.     I also felt that, though these other games are really fun, many people will never play them because they are not made to be accessible to the full spectrum of gamers.

We wanted to make a game that could solve the issues we have with existing games and bring the fun of collectible card games to people who the genre had never been marketed to.    So we decided to make the game we wanted to play.     We started by taking existing game mechanics we liked, added some of our own, and developed a story/concept with multiple appealing art-styles and character types, forming all this into a 4-player game that can be opened and played right away by all types of gamers, from the hardcore collectible card game players to families, to game-night gamers.

We came up with the concept of Trillionaire because the idea of a real-life trillionaire really captured our imaginations. There have been news articles in recent years where billionaires have theorized about what industry (asteroid mining, artificial intelligence, etc.) will create the first real-life trillionaire. We used those theories about future trillionaires and took inspiration from real-life billionaires to create cartoon, sci-fi, fantasy (etc.) billionaire characters for our game.

So we found artists, worked on character/story concepts, played the game, tweaked the game, did art direction, took out loans, played the game, tweaked the game some more, maxed out credit cards, etc. etc.

As it stands, the game mechanics are finished (though we will continue to playtest until the product gets printed/shipped), all characters and concepts are finished, and well over half of the artwork is done. We need Kickstarter to get the funds necessary to pay for the remaining (very expensive) artwork and to produce/ship the first print-run of games. We have already sourced a manufacturer. If this campaign is very successful, we will continue to make new expansions and full versions of the game, hopefully to include some licensed character sets ("Dimensions").

TAGBOI Games is happy to offer our newest game Trillionaire to VERIFIED BRICK-AND-MORTAR GAME STORES IN USA ONLY. Kickstarter stretch goal promo cards are not included. You can however purchase the base game and all expansions as well as the ORIGINS promo pack. A commitment deposit of $70.00 is required. The remaining balance will be due right before shipment. For information on the Retail Pledge discount, please email: info@trillionairecardgame.com to contact us with your order or any questions you may have. Please do not make a pledge directly on the Kickstarter page itself. A representative from the Sales Team will get in touch with you 1 month after the Kickstarter ends to finalize your order.

Risks and challenges

This is our first game, but our team has extensive experience in ecommerce, fulfillment, product development, manufacturing, customer service, and more. We have already put a lot of work into sourcing and vetting manufacturing and fulfillment partners for Trillionaire and are confident we can deliver a top-notch product in a timely manner.
The estimated delivery date is June 2019, but keep in mind this is only an estimate. With any big project there are always some risks and challenges. When it comes to anything produced in China, there are always some obstacles such as: Production delays, Shipping delays and Customs delays. Also, due to the logistics of international shipping, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards sooner than others. We've done our best to minimize this as much as possible. Artwork and card design info have been sorted out as well as card manufacturers and shipping. We are confident we can deliver all items as promised by June 2019.
