About the Game
Brave Bit is a dark micro puzzle-platform game, which features a single character named Brave Bit. Throughout the game Brave Bit is faced with numerous obstacles and elements, from pressure sensitive guillotines to automated walls of circular saws, which the player must avoid while trying to solve how to retrieve all of the Orbs to return home.
State of Development
The preliminary game is complete, which includes all of the logic required to begin setting up levels and menus.
Why I Am Raising Funds
I am raising funds to complete the development of Brave Bit. I would like to add professional touches to art and sound to bring the game up to a more polished standard. As an independent developer I have time against me and currently limited to an extremely small budget, which brings me to KickStarter.
What I Would Be Spending The Funds On
With the money I would pay for artwork and sound, hire a small team to speed up level creation and testing and lastly work on a marketing campaign.
The game would be coming to all iOS devices, however with the right amount of funding I will be bringing this to Mac OS and Android. For the budget I hope to raise, initially I wish to launch the app with 60 levels over 2 worlds, and introduce more over time through frequent updates. However this all depends on how much funding I raise :)
The game would feature 3 levels of difficulty,
Easy - The player would not be required to collect any Orbs to go through the Portal to advance to further levels
Medium - The player would be required to collect at least one Orb to go through the Portal and advance to further levels.
Hard - The player would be required to collect at least two Orb's to go through the Portal and advance to further levels.
The video above illustrates the basic mechanic to the game, however the game would feature many more elements such as Blocks that Brave Bit would have to move, Floors that Brave Bit would have to destroy, Lights that Brave Bit would have to turn on...the obstacles go on :)
MILESTONE 1: £15K - 100 Levels Upon Release
MILESTONE 2: £20K - Android Release of Brave Bit
MILESTONE 3: £25K - Mac OS Release of Brave Bit
Risks and challenges
The main challenge would be trying to make an impression in the sea of apps out there, which is always a big obstacle for indie developers. This is the key driving factor behind my campaign, and I believe it is possible to achieve through clever marketing techniques, which I am prepared to invest in.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
