Reinhold's years of practicing the sword have finally paid off. Sweeping a Kingdomwide tournament netted him an absurd amount of prize money, and the King himself was so impressed with his skill that he personally transferred him out of the Army to serve in the royal palace.
While this new position as bodyguard to the Crown Princess is an appreciated change from his previous life of trudging through swamps in pursuit of bandits, it does bring its own difficulties...
Please note that the demo is an in-progress alpha, with temporary backgrounds and no BGM.

Princess Guard is a story that's near and dear to my heart. I spent countless late nights writing its original quest thread version, guided by the choices of all its players. And while there were plenty of headaches along the way, running it was an experience that I'll never regret.
Taking place over the course of over two months (68 days in the original with 29 played through in full), the material that will end up as the Luciana route ended up nearing close to a million words when everything was all said and done with.
And even though Luciana's route will remain as the "true" route as far as the setting is concerned, I have every intention to put in my all for every single one of the other routes.
And especially Nicolette's, since she is the best.

Why Kickstarter? Because unfortunately, I am but a single turtle.
Everything you see in the demo has been funded out of my own pocket as it is, but continuing to handle funding it all by myself will only result in progress continuing bit by bit like it has been.
Especially since this is a massive story with a named cast of over 60 characters and far too many backgrounds and musical themes and GUI elements that will need to be produced.
Risks and challenges
Regardless of how this campaign ends up, Princess Guard will continue to trudge along. The largest potential issue for a project of this scale is keeping an artist until its end, and Kei's already stuck with me for going on two years now so I have faith that we'll be able to see this thing through.
I'm handling all the writing myself, and nothing short of grievous bodily harm will keep me from seeing this story to its completion.
