      Hi Auntie Ethal,

We've been discussing the topics you mention, and although we don't have anything to announce as of yet about IP restrictions and the like, we know some things: there will be no central message boards for the new Sissyfight; that's being left in the hands of the community.

We do know how much of a draw the boards were, since some of us were actively involved in moderation for the first year of the game, but we're not going to be doing that at this point: it's all up to you guys. There are currently two Sissyfight Facebook groups where discussions are going on about where to establish new message boards or community sites, and we'll be linking to those sites from Venus Patrol, where you'll be able to play the new version of the game. So you might want to check out what's going on in those groups! Of course, the whole game is going to be open source now, and part of the point of that is for anyone to get a copy of Sissyfight and roll their own version or make their own site, and we're happy about that!

      Fantastic news.
Regarding the stretch goals, personally I liked the fact that "rules" rooms had to be agreed in the room. So you could end up cowering in the den. *eeeps* Maybe that's just me.
One helpful addition would be to try and stop multiing. IP's are now largely dynamic so not sure technically how you do this but is it possible to ensure no 2 people on the same connection are not running two sessions? Possibly this would hit play your friend in the same room, but might be useful. Also in the other days connections only lasted an hour! Can you have a 'sweep' function to kick out 'frozen' sissys from the schools say if there is no movement in 10 mins?
What I personally think would be fab would be an integrated message board and message system. Presumably you can custom the latest vBulletin or similar. So long as you can block folks on the messages and ensure posters only post after say 500 points (removing much of the spam) it wouldn't be too much of a management issue. The main issue last time around was RQ didnt have much help. If go for the "many mod" route (ie have dozens of them) they can whip out the spam and other icky stuff really quickly into a hidden moderators board. Perhaps call them "teachers" and "the teachers board" Yes it leads to inconsistent modding but its better than no boards at all. You can always have 4 or 5 "uber mods" (or head teachers) to hire/fire the mods and deal with more serious issues such as banning. I don't think we ever really leveraged the fact that within the game there are lots of goodwill that could be harnessed to run this side of things. Many hands making light work and all that. I think I am correct that those that created the game (as far as I know!) didnt play the game for years on end, and might not quite appreciate how much of 'the game' was played on the boards as on the playground in terms of building up friends and allies, and dragging others in the dirt. It certainly made a lot of people keep on coming back, it was a big 'pull' factor. The main trouble with facebook is not everyone wants the "sissy" them mixed with everything else. The sissy me (silly Auntie Ethal or hard core points hor Ethal) isn't very much to do with the real me, its just play acting as far as I am concerned so I wouldn't to muddle the two, just as I keep the "work me" separate from the "drunk at a BBQ me".

Anyhow I have rambled and this probably isn't the place for a detailed discussion. Fab news!!!

Getting back on the playground and clawing you old sissies a good one (preferably while you're snacking on a tasty lolly) has been one of my wildest dreams. Now I'll have to go back to hoping for mundane stuff like finding money on the ground.

EEEEEHEEEEHEEEE! This whole revival experience has been so wonderful. :)

Congratulations! We finally did it. Thanks to Team SiSSYFiGHT for letting me know about the game. All we need to do is meet the stretch goals.

    10. Mark Edge on May 28, 2013

Ahmagadd, I literally used to sit up the whole night playing Sissyfight, and then spend the whole following day making custom icons and reading the forums. I still remember the incandescent rage that used to come over me when someone choked me on a lollipop.

well done to everyone that played their part, no matter how small or big your pledge

      bring it on

    12. Team SiSSYFiGHT Creator on May 28, 2013

Thanks, Beamie!! You pushed us over the finish line. There's still time to make sure friends get involved and grab their Sissyfight usernames, and for us to hopefully reach those stretch goals, so keep spreading the word.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of the backers for making this happen: you've given our team, and Sissyfight itself, the equivalent of a million points of self-esteem.

    13. beamie on May 28, 2013

Progress was so slow, so I felt like finishing it! Well done to all the past and future sissies out there. We did it!!

    14. Joshua A.C. Newman on May 28, 2013

Just bumped from $25 to $45! My notebook doesn't have enough stickers on it!

I played this game a TON back in 99 - 2000. I recommend it as one of my short list of perfect game designs, along with Formula Dé and Carcassonne.

So glad you guys are going to make it.

I am a bit late, but I pledged! :) We can do this!

    16. Glenn M. Petrie on May 28, 2013

      Have a little faith.

    17. Cindi Geeze on May 27, 2013

I've upped mine by $5! Come on, people! If we all do that...

    18. Terry Wiley on May 27, 2013

Could I ask I tiny favour of all yous backers? If you haven't already done so, then everyone just raising their pledge by 2 DOLLARS now would be enough to put us over the line!

    19. Glenn M. Petrie on May 27, 2013

I had not heard about SF2000 but it looks interesting. I am in.

    20. Terry Wiley on May 25, 2013

If anyone had an icon of mine & I've still got it, give me a name/description and I'll pass on a link :)

    21. Danielle Davis on May 25, 2013

I lost my perdicon, too! I'm jazzed to know it's safe somewhere.

    22. Team SiSSYFiGHT Creator on May 25, 2013

Hey Terry: there is no way for people who only have Paypal to contribute directly to any Kickstarter, but we'd be happy to accept their contribution directly to one of our personal Paypal accounts. If those people want to wait until the Kickstarter is successfully funded, to make sure that they're definitely going to get their rewards, that would be fine too -- we're basically happy to leave the window open for people that can't contribute via Amazon, make sure separately that they get their names reserved or other rewards, etc. We'll send you information directly -- and if anyone else has friends with this problem, please post here or send us a message so we can make arrangements!

    23. Terry Wiley on May 25, 2013

Callum, what was your avatar? I still have pretty much everything I did for SF so it should be tucked away somewhere safe.

Ethal - that list is a total blast from the past, thanks for that!

    31. Callum on May 23, 2013

Holy crap! I used to spend far too much time on that website (Radioactive). Wonder if RamonaQ is coming back.

    32. Cindi Geeze on May 22, 2013

You know, if everyone who pledged would up their bid right now by just $10, we'd exceed our goal. Food for thought.

Just found this is still stumbling around in cyber space, stats are boring but the list of names is a good memory!

    38. Auntie Ethal on May 21, 2013

Really excited by this! By chance i still had the same email address as I had 10 years ago! If you still know any other sissys then forward it on to them - chances are they simply wont have gotten the email.

I sadly didn't have the chance to play this when it was out but had read about it extensively in Eric's book. Very much looking forward to this. Good luck guys!

Nevermind. I got it sorted. :) Pledged successfully bumped. :)

    44. Cindi Geeze on May 9, 2013

Okay, I have tried to bump up my pledge, but it keeps saying I need to click "in the US" (to avoid $15 postage outside the US) but there's no "in the US" button to click! HELP!
