Stesso, which means a reflection of the self, was founded from the desire to provide an avenue for individuals to unveil their personality and create their identity. Our guiding principle is to provide comfortable, fashionable products that will initiate the journey to join a growing culture that is inspired to express their passion, pride and style.
The construction of our avenue begins by offering colorful socks. Stemming far away from the mainstream beliefs and conventional experience that socks don't deserve as much, if any, attention in the wardrobe, we believe that socks can be the defining factor when putting an outfit together. Allow your personality to shine and show everyone that hint of craziness we all possess.
Socks have been an afterthought in the wardrobe for far too long. Throughout the years, they have been about the rules. The right colors that have to match your pants. Today, those rules have changed. And the rule now is that there are no rules. Because socks are no longer considered just an accessory – they are a gateway to a movement.
Stesso is proud to call Greenville home. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Greenville provides a combination of traditional southern charm, stunning natural beauty and a contemporary cool. Its modern artistic scene serves as a hotbed for inspiration and plays a large role in our design process. With its forward-thinking attitude, Greenville has become one of America’s emerging destinations and fastest growing cities and we are excited to grow alongside. #yeahTHATgreenville
Each colorful design you see on our socks has a story behind it. Our design philosophy is deeply rooted in traditional southern styles with a blend of modern designs and cultural influences from around the globe. During our design process, we are also influenced by the history of sports. We pay tribute to unforgettable moments and legends that inspired and continue to inspire past, present and future generations. Stesso allows you to express the true fan inside you by displaying your team’s favorite colors as you spend the day at the office, take a stroll through the city or hit the local gym.
After careful research and various rounds of trial and error, we landed on the perfect combination of materials for our socks. These materials provide exceptional comfort, added strength and ideal elasticity.
George Bernard Shaw once expressed during his infinite search for knowledge, "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." This characterizes what Stesso stands for as a brand and it is highlighted in our slogan, "Create Your Identity."
Our focus is to bring attention to products that were traditionally an afterthought by using patterns and colors to breathe life into them. We like to show different influences in our designs - From the traditional southern styles and prevalent modern artistic scene found in Greenville to the cultural influences we are exposed to across the globe.
By using a measured combination of fabrics, we are providing you with a comfortable, long-lasting sock without having to sacrifice either element. Why choose comfort over durability or vice versa when you can have the best of both worlds?
We also believe that young, creative minds should be endorsed and given every opportunity to showcase their talents to a broader audience. At Stesso, we provide a blank canvas for college students to develop a sock design and enter it as part of our “Sock Madness” tournament. The format is similar to March Madness, where we choose the 16 best designs and place them on a bracket. We will post the bracket on our Facebook page and you get to pick the winner of each matchup. The winning design will then be produced as part of our upcoming line.
It's not enough for us to create premium quality socks. This is our opportunity to be part of something greater than ourselves. We are creating a movement that aspires to enact change through a collaboration of like-minded individuals.
There are approximately 1,658,370 new cancer cases expected to be diagnosed in 2015, according to the American Cancer Society. At Stesso, we are committed to providing resources to help find a solution to a global threat by galvanizing one person at a time. After our project, we will donate portions of our sales to cancer organizations that are leading the way in finding a cure.
We've done all the behind-the-scenes work: the patterns are ready, the fabric is sourced and our factory is waiting to begin. We've spent months developing materials and making sure every detail is up to our standards and we can't wait to get them to you.
In order to move forward with our desire of providing comfortable, fashionable socks, we have to meet our factory’s minimum order quantities. Your pledge will go towards fulfilling our first order and in exchange you will receive a reward of your choice. We invite you to join the Stesso movement and “Create Your Identity” along the way.

Risks and challenges
We’ve been preparing this campaign for months before launch to ensure it runs smoothly. The team has done its best to mitigate the risks and challenges for this project. We have working prototypes of our socks and have spent the past year working with our manufacturer to perfect our samples.
Our sock mill produces millions of pairs of socks each year and we will have the capacity to meet any level of kickstarter demand.
That said, there are inherent risks of delay in the manufacturing and shipping process. We will communicate with our backers throughout the campaign to ensure the fulfillment timeline stays true. We will be working full time to ensure that all delivery dates are met.
