Our bus improvement efforts are coming along! Two days ago we replaced all the shocks - pictures of us covered in grease are attached. Last night our mechanic finished putting in our faster rear end gears (aka the differential), replacing the 7.17:1 North Carolina mountain gearing in order to give us better gas mileage on the highway. I forgot to take a picture of the differential before he put it in, but oh man, those things are massive and filled with wonderful pieces of metal! (Anyone who hasn't seen one working, go down to the Exploratorium NOW and play with the one they have on display... sooooo cool.) I also forgot to take pictures of the 20-something chickens (and chicks!) that the mechanic kept in his West Oakland repair yard. About the chicks, his brother said that the birds had been laying outside of the coop in order to keep him from collecting their precious eggs - and lo and behold I did see unhatched eggs here and there in and among the piles of gears and axles in his boneyard.
In more interesting news, we've been printing and sending out posters all week. As soon as we have all the venues covered we will be sending out a signed batch for kickstarters. And for those who ordered signed albums, we are about to put those all in the mail, so look for those in a few days!
Our tour calendar is almost all posted by now. Please check it out and let all your friends and families in these cities know that we're coming: http://corpus.cc/shows
We leave three weeks from tomorrow! Hoo hah!
