Inside the Lab

Dear Mellows,

this time we are going to take you on a trip deep into Nerdistan. But don’t worry, it will be more fun than you think.

Let’s start with one of the most vital parts of the Mellow Drive – the motors. Here’s the latest prototype which we are actually starting to challenge right now on our testrig. Indeed we have ordered as much as 80 of these motors to built our 30 new prototypes. 30! Can’t wait to show you that picture ☺ The rest of the motors will be used for testing and serious playing around of all kinds.

What you can see in the pictures above now is that the motor becomes invisible. From the outside the motor wheel will look exactly like the front wheel when installed. Also has installing the wheel become a lot more simple. Instead of a ring and three screws we now have only one nut that holds the wheel on the truck. You simply unscrew the nut and change the wheel like on a normal skateboard. Take another close look, isn’t it just georgeous? This is what happens when we talk quality.

Speaking of prototypes, there are quite a couple of things, aka parts, aka developments you have to coordinate to end up with a new series of prototypes. Kilian is giving you a visiual overview. Nice shoes, man!

Now let’s give you a quick round through the new lab. Of course we wouldn’t do that without stopping by at our favorite toy – the testrig. In this way you also get to meet Jojo, our latest addition to the engineering team. Besides his technical qualitfications, he’s also fluent in Patwah since he lived in Kingston for 2.5 years. Yaman!

And last but not least…the fun part! Now that you’ve seen the new lab, we also wanted to show you how we said good bye to the old one. It was a great day and a last graceful dance with the old chap before it was levelled to the ground.

But before we get too emotional,…off to work!
Speak to you soon,
Johannes & Kilian
