Hey Kickstarter, I'd like to introduce you to The Modulus, the world's most functional wallet. The patent-pending modulus design was created with minimalist and modular design principles in mind, creating a low profile versatile wallet with 16 tools integrated into the construction.
Traditional wallet design demands users conform to the design of the wallet while offering no functionality. The result are a series of wallets that all share the same thing: compromise. We set out to solve this problem, and with interchangeable parts as well as physical settings, The Modulus does exactly that. Everything about the wallet is designed to be as adjustable as possible, resulting in a wallet that is truly built around the user. From the way it sits in your hand, to the type of money clip and tools held in the wallet, there is a virtually limitless number of configurations to the Modulus.
Note: At least 10% of all the profits from this campaign will be donated to Washington FIRST Robotics.

Worthy of Going In Your Pocket
The Modulus holds its own as a wallet as well. Through excellent materials and a no-shortcuts manufacturing processes, as well as the same minimalist and modular design principles, The Modulus is form meets function.
Every wallet is laser machined from an automotive grade aluminum alloy that has been heat treated and then anodized to create a material with the light weight, beautiful, RFID protecting properties expected from aluminum- while also having a wear resistance greater than many steels.

We want The Modulus to represent you, so we designed The Modulus to accept thousands of different money clips. Money clips come in different colors, styles, materials and offer different functionality so we didn't want to lock you in with just one. So we designed The Modulus to accept virtually any 2.5 cm money clip in seconds.
With a design allowing for adjustable elasticity as well as interchangeable money clips, The Modulus can meet both your functional and aesthetic demands.
The Story
We wanted to take advantage of the one item that is always on your person- your wallet- and transform it into a minimalist, but highly useful and modular device. Every feature and dimension has been meticulously examined to ensure the best user experience.
Currently, I’m a student of Purdue University’s College of Technology, and would like to be a mechanical engineer after I graduate. I chose this path in large part because of my high school experience with the foundation Washington FIRST Robotics. I want to be a part of bringing similar opportunities to other students, and give back to an organization which influenced me so much. At least 10% of all the profits from this campaign will be donated to Washington FIRST Robotics.
What's Next?
We've partnered with some great manufacturers in the Seattle area. We have worked with them on hundred of parts in the past and are confident that they will deliver a product that exceeds all expectations. Our manufacturers are eager to start making parts and have given us quotes that allow us to keep costs low and ship The Modulus quickly. We expect to begin fulfillment just over a month after the campaign.
Here's how:
- June: Make lots of friends on Kickstarter, let our manufacturers and distributors know what to expect.
- July 1-6: Put orders in for sheet metal manufacturing as well as all fasteners and component of The Modulus.
- July 17: Receive all fasteners, components, and metal parts. Send metal for anodizing.
- July 31: Receive anodized parts and begin quality assurance.
- August 3-7: Assembly of all units and complete quality assurance.
- August 10-14: Begin fulfillment and ship all wallets to backers.
All wallets will be sent off to be laser machined and then anodized, after which they will all be brought back "in-house" to be assembled and shipped away. Manufacturing will begin the day the campaign closes and units will begin to ship out within a month of the funding period coming to a close.
Risks and challenges
To manufacture the Modulus we are working with both a sheet metal manufacturer and anodizing shop. Additionally all of the fasteners, tools and parts that go into the Modulus are purchased in bulk and then brought to our assembly house. With any manufacturing or distribution operation there is a chance for manufacturing/shipping delays.
To make a delay as unlikely as possible we have only selected the best manufacturers and distributors in the area who we have worked with on hundred of parts in the past. Additionally we have received quotes from all of our manufacturers and distributors establishing costs and turn around times.
