About the project
For the past three years, I have been writing and making drawings for my book ‘Entangling’. This book is an exploration of ideas around climate change, and our connection to nature. Research and field trips to the USA and Europe have contributed to the development of ideas and imagery around this theme, and the project has evolved organically. The final outcome is a 200 page collection of imagery and words, intended to encourage thought and contemplation about our interaction with nature and the environment.
For more background information, images from field trips and drawings, and to get an idea of the book content, please visit my website www.georginahounsome.co.uk .
The book is being litho printed and cloth bound by Gomer Press, Wales. I had good fun choosing finishes such as foiling and striped head and tail bands. The interior will be printed on Munken paper for a soft tactile finish. The images that accompany this campaign show what the book will look like. The book size is 22cm W by 28cm H.
There are a variety of rewards to choose from, outlined in the rewards section.
A launch party in Bristol is planned for August 09, where books will be available to buy, as well as original artwork and limited edition prints. 10% of all proceeds raised on this evening will be donated to Trees For Cities, (www.treesforcities.org) who create greener cities to reconnect people with nature.
I've had a lot of help along the way. I'd like to say a special thanks to Sinead Evans, Jo Hounsome and Alex Higlett who helped me with writing, structure, design and proofreading - Thank you !.
Below are some images of what the final book and rewards will look like.
Risks and challenges
I have a timeline for the project. The books will be printed by the end of July and the book launch will be on 09 August. I hope to continue selling books and promoting this project through presentations after the campaign has completed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
