Wrap-Up and Plans for the Future

Well, first thing's first: The website is back up, finally. Protip, young webcomickers: learn how technology works before you try to do stuff with it. It's a bit rough at the moment but it was in need of an overhaul anyway.

Unfortunately, the project didn't reach its goal. I'm disappointed, of course, but also incredibly touched by the support I received. Thank you all so much for pledging!

This past month has been a very intense learning experience for me, and I actually had a lot of fun. I hope you all enjoyed the updates and will continue to enjoy the comic even without the book.

That's not to say I've given up. I do plan on attempting to Kickstart a print edition in the future, with a few major changes:

  • A lot more of the comic will be finished. Like, all of it, probably.
  • I'll make sure no emergencies like my computer dying or my site disappearing have even a CHANCE of happening. That really threw a wrench in things.
  • Lots of consistent updates for all of the social media.
  • The goal will be more reasonable, with the extras I wanted (like making the book hardcover) as stretch goals.
  • I'll have more money saved and be able to put more of it towards the book, lowering the goal further.
  • More rewards and incentives.
  • More preparation in general.

For now, you can keep up with the comic on the site or Tapastic. I post all the pages as I finish them for backers on my Patreon, so that's also an option if you want to see them extra early!

You can also keep up with news and updates on the comic's tumblr, facebook page and my twitter. (ok, so the twitter is mostly just me talking about whatever nonsense is on my mind, but I'm hilarious so you should follow it)

I'll be exhibiting at New South Fest on June 6th, so if you're in the Austin, TX area stop by for some fun in the hot, hot Texas sun. With comics and zines!!!

Once again, thank you all so much for your support. I learned a lot this month, and I'm really happy just having attracted some new readers. I hope you'll stick with me as I continue the story.
