I am making 4 large-scale 8 foot by 3 1/2 foot abstract pointillist drawings within the next six months for an art exhibition.
Due to the intensive labor, I need to pay artist assistants to help me work on this project. Four assistants will be helping me with this project. The pieces will be professionally framed.
The money raised through the kickstarter program will go towards paying the assistants and covering the framing costs.
Based on previous experience, this project will take approximately 450 man-hours to complete. So I need $5,500 to pay my assistants, and the framing for all 5 pieces will be nearly $4,500. Then adding an extra 10% to the total, for a net total of $11,100, since Kickstarter and Amazon deduct 10% from the total pledge amount.
The deadline for this project is a 6 months from when the pledge amount is met.

Risks and challenges
At first I was concerned with whether or not I would have enough people helping me with the project or that I may lose workers midway. Since those helping me have their own lives, they may need to stop because of other obligations for whatever reasons. But I have more than enough people who want to work for me and the number is always growing. All I need are 4 assistants and I have 18 talented artists who want to help, and I can easily replace anyone who needs to leave, so I don't believe this is any longer an issue or a concern.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
