About this project
In this video we describe what our project is about, building a radio station. We talk with some of the local band members we support and they reinforce the need for a radio station that focuses on local music as well as helping train new young DJ's in radio. This project is specifically for building a tower for our construction permit from the FCC. With this tower we can reach more people, bring a broader spectrum of music to the airwaves, and a local voice interested in local talent.
Up to this point funding for our station came exclusively from my pocket, funds generated by my engineering company. Over the past 13 years, from when this project was started, tens of thousands of dollars has been spent on engineering consultant costs, attourney's fees, not to mention the studio equipment we already have and what we have been able to do so far at our tower site.
The urgency of this comes right to the forefront when you realize that we have only 1 year to complete this and submit our readings and final application for license to cover to the FCC. Given that we only have a few good months to build outside during the year, time is ticking real fast. Too fast to complete with the available funds that trickle out of my pocket. We have no big corporate sponsors behind us, we are not owned by any outside organization or company and are not sponsored by anybody with their own outside agenda. We are truely a local independant corporation trying to provide a needed service to our community.
Thats why we need your help. Sink your teeth into something that you can feel real good about.Help us build a local community radio station, run by local people with a real true commitment to serving the artists and musicians and young DJ's from our local area.
