We are beyond excited to work on our new comedy film BIG GAY LOVE to bring to you. We’ve finished filming and are in post-production. We are near the finish line, but we need your support to bring it to the big screen. Please view our trailer, share it with your friends, and support us. Thanks!
Big Gay Love is a comedy about a chubby gay man who overcomes discrimination based on his looks to find love on his own terms!
The devastating effect of our physique-obsessed culture is explored in the comedy Big Gay Love. In the movie, Bob (played by Jonathan Lisecki of Gayby) appears to have it all – a great job, fabulous friends, and is about to become a first time homebuyer. But his success hasn’t come without a price for Bob has become the chubby gay man everyone adores, but nobody desires. When true love does find Bob in the form of a chef named Andy (Nicholas Brendon), his comical insecurities about being loved spills to the seams and gets the best of him. To keep up appearances with his friends, Bob considers plastic surgery to fit in and be perfect. But underneath it all he longs for something more.
Big Gay Love is a love letter for everyone who’s ever wanted to be accepted for themselves regardless of their color, shape, or size.
We are making Big Gay Love because we are tired of seeing rom-com movies about beautiful people looking for sex and pretending it's love, okay? Let's dig deeper people!
In Big Gay Love, we turn the tables around the convention of beauty and shift the lens to a man named Bob, a fabulously hard-working man who has many things going for him in life. But it has been increasingly difficult for Bob to love himself because of the world he lives in. As a party planner who throws hip parties he is surrounded by models, actors, and beautiful people. Consequently, Bob has lost himself and can no longer see his own beauty. That is until Andy comes into his life and turns it upside down.
In "Big Gay Love" we shift the lens of what it means to be beautiful!
The trailer clip we’ve posted is just a taste of the dedication our cast and crew has put into making this project for you to enjoy. The truly talented artists who passionately believe in this project have put their hearts and souls into this work. Imagine how spectacular and rewarding our film will be for everyone to see with your contribution that you give us to complete our film.
We are in post-production. And we need your help. We need money to edit the film, add music, sound design, color correction, and make digital prints for festivals.
We plan to squat in your living rooms until you demand it on Netflix! We want to show this film to everyone who wants to see it. Everyone around the world! We will submit the film to all the film festivals we possibly can so that everyone gets a chance to see it. We truly hope that BIG GAY LOVE will make a difference in the lives of those who see the film because it is a reflection of the diversity of the people in our culture. It is a reflection different from the Hollywood treatment. This is truly the democratization of cinema. This is true beauty.

For a preview of the dedication it takes to craft our film and to bring your rewards to you, you can listen to a sample of our soundtrack and see how it's done here! This is the day-in-the-life of a very (expensive) recording session. But we need more of these sessions to make the film come to life. Music makes the people come together, yeah! Thank you!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge of any film is putting the film in the CAN! And we DID IT! We’ve shot the film and are now editing. But new challenges await us in post-production. We want to make the film shine bright like a diamond as Rihanna says! And with that we need money for color correction, post sound, music, et al.
Truth be told we need twice as much money as we are asking on KICKSTARTER to finish this film. But with the help of our friends we are able to strike fabulous deals with post-production houses that are giving us generous deals on sound design and visual effects.
We are extremely grateful to have been approached by film festivals already and they are enthused to see our film! But they have deadlines, and it's going to be a challenge for us to make those deadlines. With your help we believe we can. Quentin and Ringo have both made feature films before and we know how to WERK IT!
Other drawbacks may be the rewards themselves. We will try our best to keep everyone updated on the project as it moves forward. We take our obligations seriously, and will honor the rewards in a timely manner. But there's always the chance of delays. In such cases, we will do our best to notify everyone in a timely manner. This model of filmmaking is new and challenging. But we LOVE a good challenge. We say BRING IT ON cause we're IN IT TO WIN IT!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
