Frequently Asked Questions
The 8x10, 12x18, and 20x30 inch photo prints are being made on Fuji Crystal Archive paper which is an archival quality RA-4 paper with a lustre finish. I will be signing all prints with my signature on the back of the print with the year printed (2014).
I love the way colors are rendered on the Fuji Crystal Archive paper. The colors are sharp and contrasty without being too glossy or reflective. The prints look great under glass and framed. It's been my favorite choice for years for color photography work and it's a popular paper for other photographers and galleries too for its long-lasting colors.
I use calibrated printing profiles to ensure the color of the final prints match my vision when making the photographs.

The final book for Terra Flamma will be an 8x10 hardcover photography book with a matte cover with an image-wrap. It's a modern approach compared to the traditional dust jacket and I love the durability and feel of image wrapped hardcover books. The pages of the book will use a professional quality photo paper and have a nice, thick, feel to them.
The book will ship in the Spring of 2015, during March. Once fire season winds down in the winter, I will begin to edit and put together the book. It's a time consuming task to order the photos, proof the book, and print it and make sure it meets my quality standards. This gives me plenty of time to make sure your investment in Terra Flamma is rewarded to the max and that you will love the book for years to come.
Shipping will be via USPS First Class or Priority mail depending on your destination. International shipments will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail International.Last updated:
If I backed Terra Flamma and get a Skype Portfolio Review, Meeting, Photo Tour, or Private Workshop, how will we arrange it?
As soon as the Terra Flamma funding window closes I will be in touch with backers at these levels to arrange meeting times and logistics.Last updated:
These fires are serious and destructive to people's lives and property. How do you approach this project from an ethical standpoint?
I wouldn’t be photographing this project if I didn’t take with complete and utter seriousness the consequences of wildfires,to peoples homes, lives, and the surrounding ecosystem during and after a fire. I’ve seen people watch their homes burn firsthand and am humbled by their loss and always photograph with the utmost respect and humility.
From a documentary standpoint, it is critical to document the current wildfire situation to provide a record of accurate visual information that will allow the public to make an informed opinion on their own as to how they want to respond to wildfires.Last updated:
Yes! Whenever I am at a fire I always pick up supplies and eat in locally owned restaurants and stores of the “mom and pop” type. If I am lucky enough to stay in a motel, I make sure it’s a one-off type of place, also “mom and pop” as much as I can so money is going back into the communities. Since wildfires put a huge dent in tourism activity (many mountain towns are reliant on summer months-tourism, which evaporates during fires/evacuations) it’s a small way to help out.
For the wildland firefighters, I am a supporter of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the families of wildland firefighters killed and injured in the line of duty. I do this by making direct monetary contributions to the WFF (usually a portion of any paid fire assignments), and by giving them PR whenever I can.Last updated:
