Action Johnson is a rough-and-tumble space cowboy with a habitual liquor problem and penchant for the ladies. Though truth be told his only real love is his space bike, the gun on his hip, and killin’ bad dudes.
I created Action to be the epitome of space cowboy; forget Han Solo, forget Captain Malcom Reynolds, forget Captain Kirk. This right here, this is Clint Eastwood bad-assery in space. And I’m not talking that Space Cowboys movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland. I’m talking The Man With No Name, Fistful of Dollars, hammer-back, trigger happy, shoot to kill, kind of awesome that is the 1960’s spaghetti western… but in space!
The Action Antho will include 32 pages of awesomeness!

3 Pages of Making of Action Johnson
This Kickstarter campaign is to help fund a small print run of Action Johnson. I’ve had a fair few people ask if they can find Action in print and I want to make their dreams come true! For those of you who wish to own this series of awesome shorts in print, you’ve come to the right place! While the main goal is to just print the 32 page book, I do have some stretch goals that I’d love to achieve. I’ve got plans for more shorts to include in the Antho, as well as an Action Johnson one-shot!
Why Kickstarter I hear you cry, well, the world is a dark, cold, dangerous place rife with perilous dangers of peril, one of which is having no money! Comics are expensive, you guys; I’ve already done the hard part and paid the artists. Now I just need that little push to the finish line.
Time to get serious, let’s talk about the nitty-gritty, get down to the brass tax, the cash money; where’s it going? I’m glad you asked, fine reader! You’re hard earned space credits will be going straight towards the production of this book. If stretch goals are reached, more artists will be paid, and print costs go slightly up.
Shipping overseas from Australia is generally quite expensive ($20 to the US) but we’re charging you $15 (max) in shipping costs. The cost of shipping materials is included in the Kickstarter total. This means we can ship books securely with full trust the book will reach you safe and sound.
Chapter One: Simone D'Armini
Risks and challenges
There are always risks when it comes to any project. However Action Johnson has very few risks; the art is complete, the printer has been sourced. All we gotta’ do is raise the funds, pay the printer, and get it made. Our biggest risk is that we won't get the funding.
With the addition of stretch goals does come the possibility of a time delay, but I don’t foresee that being a problem. The artists I’m working with are all professionals and are all capable of working to tight deadlines.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
