A fancy box! An awesome shirt! A new website!

Hey, Sentinels fans! How's the Multiverse treating you?

You know what this week is, right? It's Gen Con! Are you ready? We're almost ready!

First off, we've made you wait long enough. Here are the awesome boxes for Enhanced Edition and Infernal Relics!

Aren't they awesome?! We're pretty excited about them.

The Infernal Relics box is much like the Rook City box, but the Enhanced Edition is about twice the size and is crafted specifically for card storage. Check it out!

That box is FULL of all of the Sentinels of the Multiverse cards! All 578 cards from the core game, all of Rook City and Infernal Relics, and the promo cards and decks as well! And there's still room for the tokens!

Also, because you deserve it, check out these oversized cards:

They're just hanging out there with the box, the rulebook, and an assortment of tokens. Pretty cool, right? I don't know about you all, but we could hardly be more excited. And yet! There's more!

We have a new shirt! You've seen the Rook City shirt by now, but we also have a very cool shirt featuring the Freedom Five and Baron Blade.

For those who ordered a shirt through the Kickstarter, send us a message and let us know if you prefer this shirt or the Rook City shirt! If you don't tell us within the next couple of weeks, we'll just send whichever one we think will complement your eyes the best.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a brand new website! Check out the "Gameplay" section for a graphical walkthrough of the game, and "The Multiverse" section for bios of all the Heroes, Villains, and Environments! (If the site is still showing you the old version, be sure to clear your browser's cache and visit!)

Take a look at the "Downloads" link on the main page - we have PDFs of all the rulebooks, as well as update documents which you can print out to bring your original print run copy of Sentinels of the Multiverse into Enhanced Edition mode! And don't forget to check out the forum!

We look forward to seeing some of you this week, and hopefully sending out all of the rewards soon after we return! For those going to Gen Con, don't forget to come see us in booth 1404!

Typhoons, Shipping, and Grumpiness

Hello, all. Today's update was supposed to be about the awesome box for the game, and about totally sweet t-shirts. Tomorrow, I will write that post. However, due to the news we received yesterday, today's post is about Bad Things.

Have you heard about all the typhoons? There are typhoons. Notably around Japan, but those same typhoons have significantly impacted the Chinese harbors. Yesterday, we learned that the boat with all of our games . . . is still in China.

This is entirely unacceptable. The games have been entirely out of our hands since the very beginning of June, and the printer did a great job of getting everything done and to the shipping in time to be here. I realize that this is no one's fault, what with terrible weather and all, but the fact that we just learned about this now - a week before Gen Con... well, we're Greater Than Grumpy about it.

So, wonderful backers, please accept our most sincere apologies. The games are shipping out today or tomorrow, which means they'll be here in a month. Your games will be to you by the end of September. But we promised you August. You are well within your rights to be upset about this. We certainly are.

As for Gen Con, we are paying several thousand dollars to have 250 of Enhanced Edition and 250 Infernal Relics and the bulk of the promos air-shipped to Gen Con. We are already signed up, we have our booth all planned out, and have sunk entirely too much money into Gen Con to not go at this point, so if possible, please do come by or send someone to pick up your games. I doubt we will have anything left by the end of Gen Con, but we shall see.

Again, please accept our apologies. We really wanted this game to be in everyone's hands by now and did everything we could to facilitate this. We hate the fact that we will be at Gen Con with games before all of our backers have their games, but there's nothing we can do about that at this point.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We're doing everything we can to make this right.

Gen Con Pickup!

Since yesterday's update, we've had a lot of questions about how we're handling the picking up of games by Kickstarter backers at Gen Con. Here's the plan:

 - You come by booth #1404 any time during regular show hours on any of the show days (Thursday through Sunday).

 - Tell us your name and be able to prove it! Photo ID, con badge, something like that. (If you want a friend to pick it up for you, be sure we have that friend's name before Gen Con, please!)

 - Collect your game(s)! Also, we are giving any Kickstarter backers who pick their rewards up at Gen Con 200 Sentinels Points!

Pretty simple, right? So, you don't necessarily need to let us know if you're picking up your stuff in advance. Only if there is something out of the ordinary, such as, "Oh, I can't make it to Gen Con, but my friend Meredith Stinson will be there - can she pick it up for me?" At which point, we'll make a note that Meredith Stinson is picking up your games and rewards. She'll need to prove that she's really Meredith Stinson, though!

Hope this helps - we look forward to seeing you there!

Updates and Gen Con in Booth #1404!

Hey there, Sentinels fans! Ready for a major update? Good!

First, let's get down to the business stuff. We've finally received word from the printer about the shipping schedule, and it looks like we'll be receiving the thousands of games either the day before or the day after Gen Con (if it happens during Gen Con, we will have to tell the shipping company to hold it for a few days until we return). We absolutely have to have product by Gen Con, so a shipping schedule so tight is really making us nervous. As a result, we are shelling out the big bucks to have a couple hundred of the Enhanced Edition, Infernal Relics, and all the promo cards air shipped directly to Gen Con.

What does this mean for you, our fabulous Kickstarter backers? It means that the day we get back from Gen Con, we start packing and shipping your games. We have already begun setting up boxes and packing materials so that your orders can be sent out right away. Honestly, we wanted to be mailing them within the next week, but we cannot control the shipping speeds. Now, if Tempest would do something with ocean currents . . .

However! If you're going to be at Gen Con, let us know! We will have the master list of all the Kickstarter backers and your rewards, so come find us in booth #1404 and we will hand deliver them to you, along with a tidy pile of Sentinels Points.

And that brings us on to our next section: Gen Con. "Wait," you're asking. "You just said something about Sentinels Points. What are those?" Well, faithful reader, Sentinels Points look like this:

"Ooh! Cool! But what do they do?" you ask, even more insistent now. Fortunately, we don't have to explain. We just point you to the fancy banners describing how to get Sentinels Points and what they can be used for:

See? Aren't you excited now? Need more information? Well, ok.

At our booth (booth #1404, for those of you who weren't paying attention earlier), we will have tables with places for anyone to come up and play Sentinels of the Multiverse! Official Greater Than Games Sidekicks, as well as the game creators themselves, will be on hand to play the game with you, which is awesome and a fantastic experience in of itself. But wait! There's more! Just by playing the game, you get Sentinels Points! Then, you get more by doing the things listed on that middle banner! HOW COOL IS THAT?

Now, you might be wondering about the "difficulty level" of villains. This comes from a chart that we've included on page 10 of the Enhanced Edition version of the Sentinels of the Multiverse rulebook.  Here's page 10!

So, for those of you that want a more intense challenge, that gives you an idea of what you're up against.

Want to see another cool thing we'll have at Gen Con? (In booth #1404. Still.) Sure you do!

How cool are they?! Answer: very cool.

As for things which we do have for sale, here's the final version of the playmat, finally!

Pretty nifty! Many of you will be getting those through the Kickstarter, but we'll also have them for sale on the website and at Gen Con. In a booth. Probably booth #1404. You never know anymore.

Besides the every day playing of Sentinels of the Multiverse, we also have an exciting costume contest on Saturday of Gen Con! Here's a totally awesome photo from last year's Gen Con:

Look at those heroes!

Saturday, August 18th, we will host a Sentinels of the Multiverse costume contest at 11:00 AM! Come as your favorite character from the Sentinels of the Multiverse world! The costumes will be judged jointly by Christopher, Adam, and Paul, and two winners will be chosen. Each winner can pick from a pile of prizes, including a sizable stack of Sentinels Points, a t-shirt, or even one of the very few remaining copies of the Young Legacy promo card!

Well, that's all the major news for now from the Greater Than Games office! We're steadily working away to make sure all of the things are taken care of to get you all your rewards as quickly as possible! Thank you for your patience. We hope to see many of you at Gen Con! At booth #1404!

Sentinels of the Multiverse in Pixel Lincoln!

Have you heard about the upcoming deck building game Pixel Lincoln? We are excited about it, and have been ever since our Design Director Christopher met the designer at Origins this year. Their Kickstarter has been going very well, but they're hoping to have a big finish, so they've produced something that brings the worlds of Sentinels of the Multiverse and Pixel Lincoln together!

Presenting . . .

That's right! Your favorite Freedom Five has joined the line-up of Pixel Lincoln characters! Anyone who gets the "Bonus Pack" as part of their Kickstarter will get a pile of exciting swag, now including a full set of Pixel Sentinels!

Check them out!

How cool is that?! And those are just the prototypes! Go check out the Pixel Lincoln Kickstarter for more information!

In other news, we are expecting some exciting updates from the printer VERY soon! We will post updates keeping you appraised of the process within the next week!
