Updates and Gen Con in Booth #1404!

Posted by GreaterThanGames (Creator)

Hey there, Sentinels fans! Ready for a major update? Good!

First, let's get down to the business stuff. We've finally received word from the printer about the shipping schedule, and it looks like we'll be receiving the thousands of games either the day before or the day after Gen Con (if it happens during Gen Con, we will have to tell the shipping company to hold it for a few days until we return). We absolutely have to have product by Gen Con, so a shipping schedule so tight is really making us nervous. As a result, we are shelling out the big bucks to have a couple hundred of the Enhanced Edition, Infernal Relics, and all the promo cards air shipped directly to Gen Con.

What does this mean for you, our fabulous Kickstarter backers? It means that the day we get back from Gen Con, we start packing and shipping your games. We have already begun setting up boxes and packing materials so that your orders can be sent out right away. Honestly, we wanted to be mailing them within the next week, but we cannot control the shipping speeds. Now, if Tempest would do something with ocean currents . . .

However! If you're going to be at Gen Con, let us know! We will have the master list of all the Kickstarter backers and your rewards, so come find us in booth #1404 and we will hand deliver them to you, along with a tidy pile of Sentinels Points.

And that brings us on to our next section: Gen Con. "Wait," you're asking. "You just said something about Sentinels Points. What are those?" Well, faithful reader, Sentinels Points look like this:

"Ooh! Cool! But what do they do?" you ask, even more insistent now. Fortunately, we don't have to explain. We just point you to the fancy banners describing how to get Sentinels Points and what they can be used for:

See? Aren't you excited now? Need more information? Well, ok.

At our booth (booth #1404, for those of you who weren't paying attention earlier), we will have tables with places for anyone to come up and play Sentinels of the Multiverse! Official Greater Than Games Sidekicks, as well as the game creators themselves, will be on hand to play the game with you, which is awesome and a fantastic experience in of itself. But wait! There's more! Just by playing the game, you get Sentinels Points! Then, you get more by doing the things listed on that middle banner! HOW COOL IS THAT?

Now, you might be wondering about the "difficulty level" of villains. This comes from a chart that we've included on page 10 of the Enhanced Edition version of the Sentinels of the Multiverse rulebook.  Here's page 10!

So, for those of you that want a more intense challenge, that gives you an idea of what you're up against.

Want to see another cool thing we'll have at Gen Con? (In booth #1404. Still.) Sure you do!

How cool are they?! Answer: very cool.

As for things which we do have for sale, here's the final version of the playmat, finally!

Pretty nifty! Many of you will be getting those through the Kickstarter, but we'll also have them for sale on the website and at Gen Con. In a booth. Probably booth #1404. You never know anymore.

Besides the every day playing of Sentinels of the Multiverse, we also have an exciting costume contest on Saturday of Gen Con! Here's a totally awesome photo from last year's Gen Con:

Look at those heroes!

Saturday, August 18th, we will host a Sentinels of the Multiverse costume contest at 11:00 AM! Come as your favorite character from the Sentinels of the Multiverse world! The costumes will be judged jointly by Christopher, Adam, and Paul, and two winners will be chosen. Each winner can pick from a pile of prizes, including a sizable stack of Sentinels Points, a t-shirt, or even one of the very few remaining copies of the Young Legacy promo card!

Well, that's all the major news for now from the Greater Than Games office! We're steadily working away to make sure all of the things are taken care of to get you all your rewards as quickly as possible! Thank you for your patience. We hope to see many of you at Gen Con! At booth #1404!

1-4 days is good news to me.

FedEx ground, which typically takes 1-4 days in the US, and FedEx International Economy internationally, which takes about a week.

      Samuel Connolly on

What about the difficulty levels of Cosmic Omnitron and Vengeful Baron Blade?

    4. Brian Denning on

So, what sort of shipping will you be using? UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.

Also, what level? overnight? (please?) 4-6-weeks-mode?

    5. GreaterThanGames 13-time creator on

That number will be awarded to each person individually in the game.

      thaddeus james crawford on

Im just curious on sentinel points
Will that number be awarded to each person individually in a game or will it be given as a total ammount to split amongst the players?

    7. Christopher D on

Ahh, I see I see. That's a shame. Well i'll probably still be willing to make a four hour drive, like I said I did always want to go to Six Flags so getting the SotM stuff and going to Six Flags would make a awesomely awesome trip.

    8. GreaterThanGames 13-time creator on

@Christopher, sorry that last comment was meant for Dan Sulin! We still won't have anything until mid-August! As for picking things up from the warehouse . . . that might be tricky, but we could work something out if you really wanted to make the 4+ hour drive!

    9. Christopher D on

This coming Wednesday or Thursday? Well sounds like a roadtrip, i've always wanted to go to Six Flags. What's the latest time you guys will probably be at the office?

    10. GreaterThanGames 13-time creator on

Feel free to come by Wednesday, but we might not have everything set up enough to get your order for you. For sure by first thing Thursday morning, though!

When is the earliest at Gencon we can pick it up, say if we were lucky enough to have an Exhibitors badge could we harrass you on Wednsday :)

    12. Christopher D on

What are the chances of you guys letting me just drive on down to the office in St. Louis to pick up all the stuff I pledged for when the shipment arrives?

    13. Edward D. Omiccioli, Jr

I too will be at Gen Con.

    14. Michael Cantor on

Nice! I'll be at Gencon as well!

I'm at GenCon. See you there.

    19. Nathaniel Yamaguchi

Cool. Looks like I'll be seeing you guys and getting my stuff at Gen Con as well!

    20. Last Alchemist on

What is the preferred method of contacting you if we want to pick up our copies at GenCon?

    21. Katsue on

I won't be at Gencon, but I have friends who might be, and I was wondering whether they could pick it up on my behalf (other than by just pretending to be me).

    22. Daniel Palmer on

I'll be at Gen Con, but I can wait to get my game by mail. That would give you an extra copy to sell and make some money back. Could I still pick up a "tidy pile of Sentinels Points"?

    23. Russ Luzetski on

Sorry to hear about the shipping issues. Good luck working that out.

On the other hand, I'm greatly looking forward to GenCon! I'll definitely pick up my "rewards" there. :-)

I'll be at Gen Con, so I'll pick up my rewards there. May Justice prevail!

    26. GreaterThanGames 13-time creator on

The comic book is in progress (and is looking cool). We will have an update about it soon!

    27. Blossercubbles on

I actually think I have managed a way to get to GenCon this year! Bonus!

    28. Jason Christopher Faught on

Well, I lost my job last week, so my trip to Gen Con is canceled... Brighten my day with an ETA on the pdf comic book?

    29. Robin Lees

Will you guys be at Essen?

    30. Nathan Nabeta

Will you have the 1st Edition upgrade sets there too? I will be at GenCon and would love to get my upgrade as well as Infernal Relics.

    31. Andrew Brown on

Do I need to send an email to somebody to let you guys know I'll be at Gen Con, or can I just simply show up at your booth? And what was that booth number again? :P

    32. GreaterThanGames 13-time creator on

It is totally possible! Just stop by the booth!

    33. Wesley Austin Kinslow

I'll certainly be at GenCon and want to pick my copy up there. Let me know if it is possible!

    34. Crimson Phoenix

Great update guys, Thanks! Good Luck at Gen Con! I look forward to receiving my copy late August/early September!!

    35. Ben A Hammer on

wow 71+ games to get the mats at lest if someone want that they are going to play a ton

    36. GreaterThanGames 13-time creator on

That shouldn't be necessary - we'll have stuff necessary to fulfill all of the pledges (unless we somehow magically sell out on Sunday - but if you come earlier in the convention we will *certainly* have enough stuff :) )

Nevermind, I should learn to read better.

"However! If you're going to be at Gen Con, let us know!"

      Dan Sulin on

So do those of us coming to Gencon have you let you guys know we will be there to pickup?

    39. Andrew D. Arenson on

Wow, that's a lot of stuff!

    40. David A. Harris on

I see two T-Shirts....I want to be there.....
