My name is Eric Nordby. I'm an Oregonian. I'm a traveler, and a musician. I play music under the name "Norman", a name I correlate with family and tradition.
I've been playing the music of Norman solo and with a band for the past 7 years, and now I have the opportunity to take the songs I've written overseas. With interest in the release of my material in Germany, the thought of European tour sounded like an exciting idea. So, with help from dear friends I've made during my studies overseas as well as all the wonderful friends I have in the music community it looks like this is going to be a reality touring through Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, and parts of the UK. INSANE!
By supporting my Kickstarter campaign you're helping me get from gig to gig by car/plane/train. You're also helping to provide me with the means to press and record the solo EP for the tour consisting of 5 songs of my solo material, and helping fund the pressing of "Hay, Hay, Make a Wish and Turn Away" in Germany. That's a lot of work, and a ton of help!
The most important piece about this campaign is sharing. Although there is a need financially for this trip, the pressing of cds, and organization of everything I felt that this Kickstarter was a great opportunity to share what I'm doing musically with fans, friends, and people who just want to be a part of sharing art. I feel a need to bridge the gap between the friends and musical communities I have in America and Europe, and what better way to do it than to blog and share my adventures with the fans I have back here in The USA, and share the music I love that much with even more people. Ultimately this trip isn't about me and neither is the music. I want to be able to SHARE my experiences with you in the same way I've give you my music.
It goes without being said how much I appreciate YOU all for investing your time and contributions to my music. I'm looking forward to hitting the road, writing new material, playing all over the place, and sharing the experience with you!
