Counting Sheep, The game that anyone can win!

About the Game: Joe can't sleep! He tries everything and decides to count sheep… unfortunately this works a little too well and now he is stuck in a dreamland full of silly sheep. He quickly learns the secret to waking and returning home is by capturing these sheep. However, catching sheep won't be as easy as counting them and he'll face silly and fun challenges along the way.

How to Play: This is a fun, social game that combines hunting for objects in funny and quirky picture cards and competing in crazy fun challenges. You'll need to act quickly, think creatively and estimate like a champ. Strategy, risk-taking, humor, word-play, and guts can get you far, but a keen eye and some luck might help you win. Anyone can win this game and everyone will have fun trying. Best of all it is a great game to get to know your friends and family better.  The game is suited for players ages 12 and up and the goal of the game is to collect 10 sheep.

How do you collect sheep? By earning sheep tokens in the picture set rounds or competing for them in fun and silly challenges.

Game Contents:

• 20 Picture Cards  (4 x 6 inches)
• 40 Blue Challenge Cards
• 50 Green Question Cards
• 8 White Boards
• 8 White Board Markers
• 1 Custom Game Die (1, 2, 3, C, C, * star symbol)
• 100 Sheep Tokens
• 1 Guide to Being a Shepard

Rules: Players: 3 - 8, everyone begins game play with 3 sheep tokens. The goal is to collect ten sheep to win. The game is played clockwise. To start, the youngest player at the table begins as the roller. They roll the die.

Picture Cards: If the roller rolls a number (1, 2, or 3), then the number rolled is the number of picture cards to be put in the center of the table. 1 = 1 Picture Card 2 = 2 Picture Cards 3 = 3 Picture Cards.

Place the picture cards face (picture side) up in the center of the table.

Sample Picture Cards (Special thanks to David Camacho for the artwork):

Make sure that each player has his or her white board and marker ready. Once everyone is prepared, the roller turns over a Question Card (Green), reads it aloud to the group and places it face up on the table. The Question Card will ask a question relating to the picture cards on the table. An example would be “How many Trunks?”.

Then all players race to answer this question as quickly as possible on their white board. It is important to remember that many words have double meanings. For example, a trunk could refer to the nose of an elephant, the shorts a man wears to swim, the base of a tree or a large storage chest. Only objects seen in the picture may be counted.

Picture Card Scoring: Players race to submit their answers. The first player to turn in their answer receives a sheep token, no matter if they are right or wrong. The last player to turn in their answer does not count and cannot receive a sheep. The player with the correct answer or the closest answer without going over, collects two sheep.  Lastly a player's answer is selected at random.  If the player answered incorrectly, they lose 2 sheep.

Challenge Cards: If a letter C is rolled on the die, then no picture cards are needed. The roller grabs a challenge card (Blue) from the top of the deck and reads the entire challenge card aloud to the group. Challenge cards will include a variety of players from the game. Challenges are always voluntary; however there may be penalties for those who choose not to participate. Challenges are a great way for players to collect sheep.

Sample Challenge Cards:

Roller’s Choice: If the star symbol is rolled, then it is the roller’s decision. They can choose to have 1, 2, or 3 picture cards or to do a challenge card round.

How to Win: Winning is simple. The first player to collect 10 or more sheep wins.

 About the Creators:

We are Jae and Kerry Ok, a married couple living in Seattle, Washington with our daughter Penny.  We love games, all games: cards, strategy, social, etc. However we often found that when we hosted a party, it was hard to find a game that appealed to everyone, and that everyone could win.  That is how we came up with Counting Sheep, truly a game that anyone can win.

This is our first time launching a game and we are very excited.

Risks and challenges

We are in the final stages in the creative process for the game. Once the Kickstarter campaign is over we’ll have a few additions (per the Premier and Creator rewards). Our goal is to start production by June. Our plan is to work with WinGo Games and we are in the midst of finalizing the details. Production is one of the last hurdles we will have and it has been a pleasure working with WinGo Games. We are confident in our process and we do not anticipate any delays in the reward process.

However, if anything were to cause a delay, we plan to be in full communication with our backers. We will provide timely updates and operate under full transparency.
