Everyone Orchestra: Brooklyn Sessions
This kickstarter is to fund the completion of the first conducted improvisational studio album of the Everyone Orchestra with some of its star veterans. Together we created amazing, one of a kind, totally improvised performances over two days in a Brooklyn Studio.
Check it out.
It all started ten years ago on New Year's Eve. Through a monumental synthesis of ideas, influences, and my constant urge for improvisational creativity and community, The Everyone Orchestra was born. The line up for each EO show is unique and I have been blessed to have had some of the greatest musicians on the planet trust my direction - no matter how simple, experimental or terrifying. Members of the Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese Incident, King Crimson, Los Lobos, moe and so many more have been been overwhelmingly supportive during these ten wild years.
To celebrate this decade of live performances I've decided to create a series of studio recordings. For this first installment of the series I made phone calls to EO veterans like Jon Fishman (Phish), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), Al Schnier (moe.), Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green) Steve Kimock, Marco Benevento, Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), Jamie Masefield (Jazz Mandolin Project) and Jans Ingber (The Motet), and... they all said YES!
Armed with this incredible lineup I entered a Brooklyn studio in January 2011 for two full days of conducted improvisation. The music we created far exceeded all of our expectations and left me with hours of truly beautiful, creative, wholly funky and original music to edit and mix. As a result, I couldn't be more proud and excited to announce The Everyone Orchestra's debut studio album 'Brooklyn Sessions.'
To date, this project has been self-produced and self-funded and I am almost ready to release the music. But, I need your help to raise funds for final stages of finishing the album and to get this EO Studio Series off the ground.
With your support this will be the first of many incredible EO studio collaborations to come!
Thank you for checking out the videos and enjoying the music!
