When was the last time your showcase evoked a sense of curiosity & excitement? We know you're tired of presenting run of-the-mill lifeless gifts and looking for a unique solution to your decorative needs.
Introducing technology enabled life imitating magical frame, the DANCING FRAME. A unique solution to your decorative needs, which hopefully will evoke a sense of excitement & curiosity in your showcase again.
Modes of Operation
The frame can be operated in 3 different modes and switching between modes can be done by clicking the jog dial:
- Mode 1: Slow Motion Mode, watch the illusion of slow moving object
- Mode 2 : Distortion Mode, the object movement looks distorted for a human eye
- Mode 3 : Study/ Read Mode, a flicker free light, with no effect and sound. Suitable for reading
- Mode 0 : Off
any COMMERCIAL USE you ask..? How about an awesome table lamp for your diner...
How does it Work..? It's Magic..!
We are glad that you asked..! Well, if you want to dive into it a bit more to understand the workings behind the magic, lets detail the parts..,
- L.E.D strip
- Microcontroller Powered Electronics
- Electro-Magnetic Solenoid - Acutator
- Vibrating Arm
- Muse - Feather
- Wooden Frame
Out of this.., LED Strip, Electro-Magnetic Solenoid and microcontroller Powered Electronics form the core of the device. At its fundamental level, the illusion (yes., it's not really magic) is caused by strobing the light at a frequency close to 80Hz and vibrating the arm connected to the solenoid at a slightly higher or lower frequency there by creating a blended slow motion effect to the eyes via aliasing. The wall adapter provides a 12 V DC power at 2 Amps to the microcontroller controlled L.E.D strip(1) and the Electro-Magnetic Solenoid - Actuator(4). The combination of the above two gives a spectacular slow motion movement to the Muse - Feather(6) or any light weight objects like flowers, grass blade etc.
The First Prototype
The product is completely safe and shockproof. You can touch all the parts of the frame including the solenoid. You can even touch the object placed in the frame to feel the illusion and understand it better.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What things can I put on Dancing Frame?
Any light weight object that can be inserted into the vibrating arms of the frame can be used. We have observed that the best effect can be felt with leaves, flowers, feathers, grass and Origami.
2. Does the Dancing Frame work under bright light (Sunlight or other sources)?
The frame is best meant for indoor conditions and the effect is based on the LED strobe lights embedded in the frame. The effect is greatly weakened and hard to notice when the intensity of embedded light is weaker than the external light sources (Sunlight) around it. However, the ambient light below a 60W incandescent light source doesn't affect the performance of the frame.
3. Do you provide warranty for the product?
Yes. We'll provide "No question asked" warranty for 3 months. The warranty doesn't involve physical damage due to mishandling.
4. Whats the Inspiration for Dancing Frame?
I have always been a fan of illusions and slow motion whether it might be on TimeWarp or on SlowMo Guys., and seeing it on the Jeff Lieberman Kickstarter project SlowDance..., pushed me to try and do one on my own.
5. Does Dancing Frame have an inbuilt battery?
No. Dancing Frame works on the direct AC supply.
6. Does the frame introduce any reaction in eplieptic patient?
We can't say No, but so far we haven't found a case which suggests that.
7. Does it make noise when operating?
Its less than < 30dB .., so very very quiet.
8. Why is the crowd funding goal flexible?
We get each frame handmade and crafted by skilled workers and only a very small portion of the device is machined, hence it was only logical to go with flexible fund to ensure each and every backer takes home this art piece irrespective of whether we reach a required goal.
9. Where can I get product part replacement post warranty period?
All the product parts(except frame) like vibrating arms, solenoid - actuator, magnets, LED's, o-rings etc. will be made available online for replacement post the product warranty period.
10. How is the winner for "Share and Win" decided?
We consider the total shares done by all backers and the backer who's re-share for the following link gets the maximum share will be considered as winner..!
