Hello, My name is David Dondero. I'm recording 2 separate albums. The first is entitled "This Guitar" which includes 10 new original songs. It's being recorded in Austin, TX at the Cat's Eye Studio by Doug Walseth. We're recording on 8 track using 1 inch tape. Adoniram Lipton is featured on Wurlitzer/Piano and Gina Spigarelli on Upright Bass. Ian Moore played guitar on a track, Yamal Said ( on drums) and Ted Nesseth of the Heavenly States has given spiritual and production guidance.
This is a work in progress but i hope to have the production/recording finished by late April. I plan to press 500 copies onto 180 gram vinyl with full color printing, lyric insert and a digital download card included. The manufacturing will be done through Pirates Press in San Francisco. I plan to have it out by November 2013 This is the track listing and some video links to a few of the new songs:
1. Roses and Rain *note( featured in this Kickstarter video as a sample of what we're doing in Austin..) 2. This Guitar (here's a video recorded in El Paso, TX by Zach Passero in his backyard and is part of the Strange Transmissions collection of videos) 3. Boxer's Fracture 4. Take a left turn in Boise 5. New Berlin Wall 6. Samantha's Got a Bag of Coal 7. The Saddest Song 8. Alcohol 9. No Tomorrow in this Song (here's a video from Fairbanks, Alaska at the college radio station last February) 10. Don't you Feel
The 2nd album entitled "Golden Hits vol. 1" is a retrospective collection of my earlier songs spanning from 1998 to 2011. This is a folk double album which has already been re-recorded onto 2 inch tape using a 1960's era Neumann microphone. 2 tracks live in the studio. No overdubs. My intention is to bring the songs back to the root. Just voice and guitar. Using quality gear to give it a classic sound.
Mike Vasquez recorded and engineered the project at the Fox House Studio in Underwood, WA. Mike also recorded 2 of my early records including "South of the South" and "Simple Love" at Sweatbox Studio in Austin, TX.
I intend to put this out as a double vinyl 180 gram lp. with full color printing, gatefold, lyric insert and digital download card. It will come out on Unrequited Records. I plan to have this out by May of this Spring at the latest. Here is a track listing for David Dondero "Golden Hits vol. 1"

Risks and challenges
Vinyl projects always seem to take a little longer than you might expect. That's why i've given plenty of time. A manageable cushion. I've worked with Pirates Press in the past on two occasions. So i'm confident we'll get it done by the projected dates.
If anybody out there has other ideas for pledges let me know. I'm open to other combinations of things as well. Send me a note and we can work it out.
As far as the possible Skype concerts. The only thing i see going wrong there is my computer crashing. In that case i will borrow a friends and it will happen regardless.
The last challenge will be mailing everything out in a timely manner. That'll take a little time, along with printing the T shirts. I can print a couple hundred shirts in an afternoon and it's fun for me. If this does well and there are alot of orders.. It will take some time and labor to put all the packages together. I have no problem with that. That would be a fulfilling batch of work.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
