Geocaching is modern day treasure hunting, but instead of a pirate map, players rely on a GPS monitor or cell phone to guide them to the "cache." As of 2013 there were over 2 million caches in the world. They are in the cities and forests, even under the ocean. Chances are there is probably a cache near you right now. Items placed in the cache vary, ranging from little value to jewelry, travel vouchers, and even cash.

Our story begins with a young couple traversing through the forest, cellphones in hand. We ultimately learn what they are searching for: a hard-to-reach cache, dangling precariously on a ledge abutting a cliff face. When they manage to recover the cache, instead of treasure, they uncover something far more gruesome: a rotting forearm, fingernails polished bright pink. And that's only the beginning.
As evidence linked to a sadistic string of murders begins to show up in geocache holds throughout the forest, a detective's only shot at catching the killer, is to play in his chilling game.

Risks and challenges
Writing is a low cost/low risk endeavor.
The author foresees that the money generated by KickStarter will likely be insufficient to cover all publishing and marketing costs. That said, the author plans to reduce this risk by contributing his own funds to meet any budget shortfalls. Additionally, the author plans a low cost, social-media marketing campaign to promote sales of the novel. Lastly, the author is skilled at photoshop, and plans to design the book cover and marketing art-work in house to reduce initial manufacturing and design costs.
