I have recently discovered and hoped that my vocation as a musician and artist, is one that I hope would breathe life into the hearts and minds of those who hear and receive my art, and that my union with the listener might be used to point them to the greatness within themselves. It is by that union that the power of good can take refuge in the nature of the beautiful, and a disoriented culture can be healed. In return for all of the great good that I have been blessed with in my life, I offer this small gift of myself and I hope that by sharing, it may bring a moment of beauty to yours.
"Small Things With Great Love" is a collection of both instrumental and sacred hymns which I have composed over the course of the last ten years or so. These works have all been born from experiences in my life where I found myself so moved and inspired, that I had no choice but to translate them into a language that everyone can understand: music. The album will contain eight total tracks, and will include multi-instrumental works for cello, violin, viola, bass, piano, and full chorus.
The title of the album pays homage to the great Mother Theresa of Calcutta, who once said that we should perform small acts with great love. It is with that very goal that I want to offer you my music. My hope isn't to save the world, but only to enhance just a small part of your life by filling it with a beauiful experience.
My experience in the music industry has introduced me to both the great beauty and potential for life it holds, as well as many of the counterfeits and subtle immitations it demonstrates. Much of modern music has become saturated with elements that are, in many ways, dishonest and artificial. The dignity of music stems from its purity, be it simple or complex, and it is from that stance that I want to invite you to support beauty. Please help if you can. If you are not able, please share this. The listener, the receiver of art, deserves only the real and true: a beautiful renaissance and re-claiming of this goodness is on the move.
Thank you,
James Rosenbloom
Risks and challenges
The main risk that I am taking in carrying out this project is that I may not receive the amount of funds that I require to produce this work. The dollar amount I am asking for is actually less than the amount I need in order to produce this project. I am asking a lower amount so that I may be able to fund the bulk of this work with your contributions, and supplement it later with some personal savings.
The second risk I am taking is that of bearing the costs of unforseen expenses in the post-production process such as duplication, legal expenses, and quality assurances.
