Progress Report

Posted by Laughing Manatee Games (Creator)

It's been a while since we've checked in! We've made a ton of progress with Puzzle Depot, and we'd like to show you some of what we've been up to in recent weeks.

So Many Options

Long-awaited features such as volume control and screen resolution options are now in place! A lot of work has gone into ensuring that the pixel art looks perfect at various resolutions, anywhere up to nine times the original size. There are also options for a proper fullscreen mode, if that's your thing!

The controls have undergone a major overhaul, and not only are keybindings now configurable to your liking, but we also have full controller support! This includes both xinput (xbox controllers) and directinput (pretty much every other USB controller). Whatever control scheme you prefer, we've got you covered! It plays fantastic with a controller, by the way.

World Editor Improvements

Creating rooms is becoming faster and easier as we continue to refine the world editor. Check out the new filter buttons, allowing the creator to quickly find desired objects and place them in the level:

New options have been added to the editor to allow more control over different aspects of the level, such as when level-ups occur, or how the minimap functions. We're very curious to see what kind of worlds players will create with these tools!

Kickstarter Puzzle Pack

The daily challenge rooms that were available during our Kickstarter campaign are making a return as part of the Kickstarter Puzzle Pack! The puzzles have been kept as close to the originals as possible, but the visuals have been given a fresh coat of paint:

The Puzzle Pack will include all the daily rooms from the Kickstarter, plus some extra goodies! We will be releasing the Puzzle Pack ahead of the full game as an early preview. We'll have a release date for the Puzzle Pack for you in the near future.. looking at sometime in May!

We have some busy weeks ahead and more to talk about soon. Thank you once again everyone for your continued support and patience, and please feel free to reach out to us if you have questions!

Oh, well, here's an idea for Puzzle Depot II :)
I justed checked your Twitter and the progress is looking good.

Because of the differences between the two games on a mechanical level, it wouldn't be possible to recreate Depot Dungeons exactly. I think that some levels could come out pretty close, though! That might be a good idea for some extra content for down the road!

      Thanks, Loic :]

Awesome, I can't wait to try the puzzle pack.
As a sidenote, do you plan to re-adapt the full Depot Dungeon into Puzzle Depot? I'd be interested in seeing how it would look & play in the new engine.
      Keep it up!
