Epic Games, GDC Wrap-Up, Livestream and Future Updates

Posted by White Lotus Interactive (Creator)

Hello everyone!

It has been a very long, fun and productive week for us. We wanted to share some of it with all of our awesome backers, so keep reading!

Epic Games

We met with Epic today at their booth at GDC. They welcomed us into their booth and encouraged to ask as many questions as we could. Everyone there was wonderful and extremely receptive to our group. They are fully in support of our project and would even like to feature us in showcases as we dive further into development. Their dedication to the their customers is phenomenal, making us proud to be using the Unreal Engine! Exciting things to come!

GDC Wrap up

It has been a LONG week for us! GDC was an incredible experience, and we will certainly attend in years to come. The camaraderie within the gaming industry is easily witnessed at events like these, and assured us that we were exactly where we wanted to be.

Over the week we spoke in interviews, met brilliant and talented people, laughed at parties, tried out new tech, witnessed the IGF and Game Developers Choice awards live, heard sage wisdom and advice for our future, and even ventured over to Japan Town a few times.

Livestream for the final 3 hours?

We are thinking about hosting a livestream for the last few hours of our Kickstarter, but would like feedback before we gear up for this event. We apologize as we realize the last few hours of our Kickstarter are pretty late for people on Pacific Time like us (11pm-2am), and are pretty early in other areas. We would record the whole stream live and post it to YouTube later for everyone to see. This would mainly be a way for us to personally talk to you guys about anything and everything you want to talk about.

If you would like to see us talk about the game and our development, or ask us questions and see them answered live, let us know! Comment here on this update or in the general comments area to let us hear your voice.

Updates will continue after the Kickstarter Ends

We will be continuing to update for major news and content through our Kickstarter page after the campaign has ended, and will be focusing more heavily on Dev Blog posts for the months to come. We want to be as transparent and open with everyone as possible, so we hope that these updates will help to keep everyone informed!

We are inching closer to the Map and Oculus Rift, so continue to spread the word!

So happy for you guys! GDC sounds like it was very productive for the Xing crew. Pics are great. Livestream? Yes!

      Congrats on the good news.

I hope you were able to make a lot of good contacts for your business. You have a great game which should attract a lot of attention.
Being here for the livestream would be cool. I'll probably miss the first hour.
@Chris...yes, I have the first picture.

      Thanks for sharing the photos.

Glad you had some time to relax a little bit and have some fun.

The livestream is a bit early in the morning for me, but who knows, I might just catch the end of it... Either way, I've really enjoyed following the campaign (the first Kickstarter I ever pledged to!) and I wish you the best of luck for the last couple of days. Let's hope you can keep up the momentum and hit another stretch goal or two.

      Linux would be great...

Glad you had a good time at GDC, and also glad Epic Games is supporting you. Maybe the Linux version will be a possibility later on.

Also, I can be on for the livestream (it's early as heck for me in EST).

Yes! I'm down for the Livestream! It would be great to see you guys and talk with you. The time is OK with me; the Dreamfall Chapters countdown was around the same time. Maybe Epic Games will allow you to make the game for Linux in the future. BTW, does the first picture show up on anybody else's screen?
